Re: 2021 National Championship UVA vs UMD

Awesome first half for the neutral fan. Second half has been less than exciting. Hoos have one hand on the trophy

UVA too good on D, O, and in transition. Also - 0 penalties thus far.

Re: 2021 National Championship UVA vs UMD

I know his production levels are down this year, but Dox is such a presence for UVA. Patient with the ball, high lacrosse IQ and up there with JB1 for most athletic player on the field today. He looks like a football player out there. Cavs will need him to be assertive today

Re: Cornell 2021

Throwing it way back here and off-topic from Lacrosse — any lucky posters here attend 5/8/77 at Barton Hall? I find it funny how the team went on to win NCAA’s 20 days later after that magical show. Were players in the building?! Epic time to be a CU student! There was a throwback article about the...

Re: Syracuse 2021

This has shades of the Bratton twin debacle at UVA, we all know how that ended...a national championship on Memorial Day. A ridiculous post about a potentially serious issue. This a valid point about the team and the play on the field. Not of course the issues off the field, which are/were very muc...

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search

Some of you guys need to take a break on the Steele Stanwick obsession. Being a coordinator at Johns Hopkins should not be an entry level job. Previous experience as a coordinator in men’s lacrosse should probably be a minimum requirement It's not an obsession, it's an understanding that he brings ...

Who are top assistants he should be going after? Would he try to bring Buzcek with him? Some have mentioned Steele Stanwick. Tucker Durkin DC? John Crawley? Metzbower? And go... I don’t really get the Stanwick thing. The women’s and men’s games are wildly different but it’s not as if his offenses w...

https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/how-steele-stanwick-ended-up-at-hopkins/20969 “I’d say I’m a players’ coach, and I’m going to give them a lot of freedom,” he says. “I was a big two-man guy, picking on and off-ball. The rules are a little different, but I think we can do some interesting thing...

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search

Talk of Hop moving to D3 is nonsense. Hobart tried that a few years ago, and the alums stopped it cold. And that was Hobart. At Hop, the campus wouldn't survive the nuclear combustion. Insider tip: no university president really likes big-time sports of any kind, but they all make their peace with ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021

With respect to Steele as a player and a women’s coach. You don’t enter into a national search if you’re picking the guy from down the hall in Cordish. If you do you lose some credibility as an AD. Again with great respect to his career as a player and coach do you guys really think that choice wou...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021

Again, I am not automatically against the idea, but flatly stating that he'd definitely be an improvement over Benson—who, whether you like him or not, has had actual success at the D1 men's level—is silly. As jrn19 pointed out, Benson's offenses were routinely in the top 10 for offensive efficienc...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021

[/quote] Lol how can you possibly say that? The guy has never coached a minute of men's lacrosse in his life. Yes, in theory he COULD be good and it's certainly an interesting idea to throw out there but it's wild people keep bringing him up as if he's a certain upgrade over the previous OC, who has...

Thoughts on Steele moving over to the Men's team to take the reins as OC? Would he even accept?

Would definitely be a step up from BB imo.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021

Couple questions - I know I have asked this before but how can the Stanwicks not be on the All-time JHU team? Is there a criteria they didn't meet? The ONLY thing you can say is they never got above HM AA but they were both 3 X HM AAs. Otherwise it seem the biggest of sleights to have Brown there a...
