Re: NESCAC 2020

Not sure this has circulated yet on here, and I’m feeling too lazy to scroll through and look and see, so here’s an article from this fall entitled: “Why Rashad Devoe was meant to be the Hampton Coach”....(for 6 games): https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/lasagna-rashad-devoe-was-meant-to-be-hamp...

Re: D3 Program and Schedule Status Updates

I agree to disagree. While I'm usually one to gets tired of the "have nots" holding back the "haves" - NCAA tournament roster size limit is one example that comes to mind- I'm in the belief that NCAA D3 will rely on conference and member dues now more than ever since there's no M...

Re: NESCAC 2020

I agree- Sheridan's wife is head wlax coach at Kent State. If they were both coaching at the D3 level, you could assume Amherst pay for him was enough for them to move to 1 income for a bit while she finds something in western mass, but I think it'd be hard to see him making the move. Others in Terr...

Re: D3 Program and Schedule Status Updates

Division 2 made sweeping changes the other day, universally cutting maximum number of games allowed for all sports: http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/dii-presidents-council-lowers-maximum-minimum-number-contests Lacrosse cut down to a max of 13 games. I like that they (NCAA) made...

Re: NESCAC 2020

From Terry Foy (CEO at Inside Lacrosse)'s twitter last night:

"@TerenceFoy:
Progress in the @AmherstLacrosse coaching search: an offer has been made that multiple sources expect to be accepted, potentially finalized by Friday."

Re: 2020 Coaching Carousel

Don’t be shocked of this opening closes another one.... I have no knowledge of anything, but Marty is a good coach and I can’t imagine him leaving the game.

June 30 end date is a bit odd though. Hard to think another school would want to wait that long to get him on board.

Re: NESCAC 2020

Inside Lacrosse posted this piece about Jon Thompson over the weekend: https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/opinion-amherst-thompson-face-opposite-challenges-in-wake-of-separation/56398 Interesting read. Obviously, it's an opinion piece but certainly thought provoking. Have to assume Amherst will ...

I don't know anything about Randolph and don't doubt what you just said. However, I just went to Randolph's website to learn more and was blown away by this:

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search

All these rumors and "sources say" reports remind me that in truth, nobody really knows what the heck is going on. I was curious about how some of the rumors played out last year with a few jobs so I looked back at a few message board threads and popular social media accounts known for bre...

Thanks for taking the time to pool that info and list it by conference. Very interesting to see. Good stuff by SpiritInTheStick!! Re: 2020 Coaching Carousel

With many schools being on budget and hiring freezes due to COVID closures and revenue lost; it will be very interesting to see how job searches play out this cycle. For the sake of coaches and their families, I hope (think?) that most schools will be very slow to relieve a coach of their duties in ...

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search

Raymond also has the added benefit of coaching a D1 sport at a D3 school already. I may be wrong but I think there are some very unique compliance and recruiting challenges that come with that.

He's the betting favorite to get the job I think.

Re: D3 Coaching Changes

Gotta assume the Union job will be passed directly to Derek Witherford the assistant head coach. He's been a HUGE part of the recent success of that program. If the rumor mill from past years carries any validity he was a target for a number of head jobs in the past but sat idle waiting for his chan...

Re: LIBERTY LEAGUE 2019

Bard, now canceling games, including what would have been Ithaca’s senior day, is not helping strength of schedule even within the league I could be wrong on this, but the way I understand it; having to play Bard (as RIT did) actually hurt the SOS, but getting the forfeit win from the canceled game...
