Re: Games Today
Yeah- the Penn State OT goal sure looked like a charge in the possession that led to the FP.

Re: Games Today
In a continuation of the weirdest season ever, Penn State just beat NU in OT. The cats looked off in every phase of the game… Taylor was too busy flopping at the merest suggestion of any contact to actually go to goal. The demise of Izzy Scane is greatly over exaggerated and I’d bet that if she coul...

Re: Games Today
NU is playing without Sammy White or Carleigh Mahoney and Coykendall went down with an injury in the first half. She’s back but doesn’t look 100%. The cats don’t look great and Penn State looks much better than expected.

Re: Stanford Player Gets Red Card for Hit
I doubt IL is paying attention to any of that. The article starts out by saying they only consider HS ‘23 grads and proceeded to misspell RS freshman (therefore a ‘22) Polisky’s first name incorrectly. If they can’t get that straight they aren’t noticing much.

Re: Boston College
Kent wasn't in Arsenault and Apuzzo's recruiting class. She was a year ahead but graduated with them because of taking 2018 off. I think their current senior class should be considered elite- B. Smith, Scales, Roman, Martello, Reynolds. That's pretty much as good as you'll find in the country. I als...

Re: Games Today
1. I think White had offseason surgery/ rehabbed a significant injury and was out for all of fall ball. She may still just be coming back into form. 2. I hate the new green cards. It has killed the ride which is a part of the game I have always loved. A lot of what made last year's NU offense (Scane...

Re: ILWomen Top 50 Players 2024
How does Laliberty not make this list given the goalies that did? .475 save percentage (higher than some on the list), conference and national champion, eye test says she made tough saves against top opponents in moments that mattered on a consistent basis. Other GKs on this list struggled against t...

Re: Transfer portal
Since 2018 no team has repeated and only 1 team has made it to every final four. The sport continues to grow and evolve.
Levy’s strength might not be X’s and O’s but her players love playing for her and Carolina’s support of their players in pursuit of employment post college is excellent.

Re: Northwestern v. Boston College, High Noon 5/28/2023
I don’t fault KAH for not clearing the bench. She played 30 players against Loyola and Denver. This was the national championship game against a team with a proven ability to come back from large deficits. I’d bet that UNC semi last year still haunts them. I wouldn’t have risked it either. BC was ch...

Re: Syracuse v. Boston College 5:30 pm 5/26/2023
I’ve wondered if cuse was a victim of their own offensive success yesterday. Their scoring was so balanced this season that there was no 90 goal scorer. Carney was their best scorer with 60 goals on the season. Lots of players with a high point total but almost too much balance between goals and ass...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
If we’re still talking about Deemer Class, why aren’t we talking about Sam Apuzzo? Generally considered to be one of the best minds in the sport. Has done it all at every level. Her ability to construct teams in AU is significant. It’s not that I think Class is a bad suggestion but I think it’s ridi...

Re: University of Miami Women's Lacrosse
$60m is probably about right. Assuming you’re all in on creating the program, you’d want to endow it so $60m generally harvests a little under $3m per year. For a fully funded program, you’re looking at about $1m/ year In scholarship money, $1m on coaches, support staff etc, $1m on travel, equipment...

Re: Syracuse
With no evidence, I have observed that you seem to see a higher rate of ACL tears and lower body injuries on certain turfs (location, not type) particularly in the first few years of that turf. I’ve wondered if it’s due to how it’s laid, surface tension etc. Again, no evidence but 25+ years around t...

Re: Northwestern Wildcats
It's easy to call the semi final game a choke but I don't think there are many people out there that thought that NU would play UNC to a one goal game. There probably are some coaching decisions they'd change given the opportunity but NU playing UNC to a 1 goal game in the semis? That took an excell...

Contact in the 8, some of the checking on the ride. To be clear, there is also a lot of really beautiful defense being played. I just want things to be called evenly regardless of the team you play for.

Re: Quarterfinal: Maryland vs Florida @ Noon
Maryland is an excellent team and plays nice, clean, fundamentally strong lacrosse. BUT i feel today, and just about every time I've watched them at home, that they get some generous calls/ no calls going their way.
