Re: Connecticut 2024

Ridgefield 10, Yorktown 6. . . At Tiger Hollow tonight.

Yorktown's star goalie (Mezzatesta)made some big saves or the margin could have been greater.

Re: Connecticut 2022

The FCIAC tournament field is set. The semi finals are setting for a great rematch of a healthy Ridgefield vs Darien. The game is at noon at Darien High School. Of course, Ridgefield needs to get by Greenwich to play Darien. That could also be a good game. The noon game you refer to at Darien is th...

Re: BOY'S HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT PROBABILITIES

We are dealing with over ten thousand teams for boys, girls, men and women and we try to keep up with the movement of these teams from one division to another and we rely on outside people to support us. Unfortunately we have errors in the data base and will continue to have errors in the data base...

Looked at CT class L. It was a total waste of time.

Re: Connecticut 2022

https://www.youtube.com/c/RHSAthletics/videos Not the greatest video stream but at least you can follow the game. Thank you! Ridgefield 13, New Canaan 5. Final. New Canaan had a significant edge at the X, which continues to be Ridgefield’s Achilles’ heel. But Ridgefield’s goalie played well.

Re: Connecticut 2022

15-9 final, but Darien called off the dogs early in the second half -- not much to read into because of the Ridgefield injuries. To my eyes the missing players were DeGrasse, Prohazska, and Steffens, and Winkler took a knock too during the game. Very concerning heading into a big matchup against Ma...

Re: Connecticut 2022

A few big games coming up this Saturday to kick off the start of the lacrosse season for the FCIAC teams. Fairfield Prep v. Ridgefield Definitely the game of the weekend and a rematch of the state championship game from last year that Ridgefield won 8-5. As I mentioned in my last post, Ridgefield r...

Re: Connecticut 2021

Staples-Ridgefield should be the game of the day. Though... the last one wasn't so close... If you're talking about the last Staples-Ridgefield game, the final was 12-11. Ridgefield had a 3 goal lead in the fourth but couldn't hold it, partially due to their weakness at the X. With the absence of P...

Re: Connecticut 2021

Surprised by how low scoring the Ridgefield/Greenwich game was with how porous the Tiger defense has been lately; is Prohaszka back? No. Not back. But Ridgefield's zone has been getting a little better lately. And today, for the first time without Prohaszka, they managed to hold their own at the X....

Re: Connecticut 2019

The discussion of FP "recruiting" has been going on for years. CS was accused of recruiting forever. He never recruited a player. Recruiting implies cash assistance to attend. Not real. Now Brunswick AOF etc. Save the bridge for those schools. Recruiting in no way, shape, or form implies ...

Re: Connecticut 2019

There was some talk about Prep and LH to the FCIAC maybe 15 years ago. However a number of FCIAC schools/coaches were not interested in adding another school that recruits athletes, sometimes from their towns. Who at FP is the "Director of Recruiting?" Do they work out of the Athletic Off...

Re: Connecticut 2019

There were several years in the past 5 where Darien, Ridgefield, Wilton (somewhat less so), NC and Prep won probably 70-80% of their out of state games vs NY and MA. I agree that this is somewhat of a down year but I think it is really a sample size of 1, I don't think you can make any generalized ...

Re: Patriot League 2019

Made no sense to us out of conference game(s) as a measure since not all PL teams play the same out of conference opponents. Use PL teams as part of the tie breaker matrix was proper. Yes, games among PL teams are the first few tiebreakers. However games against OOC opponents are never used in an u...

Re: Patriot League 2019

Even the leaders at the PL had it wrong back on 4/24/2019 early afternoon. Per my post on the Navy thread earlier that day with quoted text from the PL website, the 3-way tie was advantage Navy. It sure left many of us confused who were going by the PL front offices original assessment. Their websi...

Re: Patriot League 2019

Even though Loyola is going to win tonight and render this irrelevant :D I was looking at the tie-breaking rules and possible seeding scenarios, and the last one below makes no sense to me. If Loyola loses to Lafayette and Lehigh and BU both win, so all three teams are tied at 6-2, how in the world...
