Re: Transfer Poll: Chris Gray - Open through June 14th

If you take the reporting at face value it sounds like Gray has visited and applied to the New Haven Institute of Sport. Seems like Shay and company want him and are willing to move Brandau to midfield and make their recruits wait to play to do it. Trips to Duke, UNC and JHU this week to determine w...

Re: Yale 2020

TLD, you are correct. Women’s soccer coach who had been at Yale for over 25 years had been taking bribes to admit phony recruits. Who knows how long it was going on.

Re: Yale 2020

Yale’s willingness to admit high profile male athletic transfers is what’s surprising to me. Given Yale’s admission rate on transfers is about 2.5% and only about 30 get in each year I thought TD was a truly unique circumstance. Sounds like it’s not. Yale seems to be prioritizing male athletics in ...

Re: Yale 2020

Yale is not the only school to have placed on emphasis on sports. Penn and Princeton come to mind. Over the past 5 years, Princeton has more team Ivy titles than anyone and only Harvard is close. Both of those schools have done that without utilizing athletic transfers and have had as much if not m...

Re: Transfer Poll: Chris Gray - Open through June 14th

Mathies was 50 points in his sleep there. What does that even mean?... Gray would not put up the numbers at Duke that he put up at BU this year. Schedule is harder and there are a lot of guys that need/want touches on the offensive side at Duke. They will not defer to him (because they won’t need t...

Re: Transfer Poll: Chris Gray - Open through June 14th

Gray would have 80 assists for Duke. Let's not get carried away. Crotty holds the Duke record with 63 assists over 20 games in 2010. Guterding's most assists in a season were 47 also over 20 games in 2018. That was the most since Crotty who was a 2 time 1st team AA that won the Tewy and was recruit...

Re: Transfer Poll: Chris Gray - Open through June 14th

From a coach's perspective, whoever is recruiting Gray needs to be prepared to accept his style. He is someone who plays best with the ball in his stick. He's a great facilitator but also a volume shooter rather than a high percentage shooter. Over his career he has averaged 9 shots per game while s...

Re: Transfer Poll: Chris Gray - Open through June 14th

Sean Cerrone transferred to Duke after 2 seasons at Villanova. Gray would instantly be Duke’s #1 attackman and shouldn’t negatively impact recruiting if he was to go. They understand there’s going to be stiff competition for playing time. Good catch on Cerrone. Interesting thing about him is that h...

Re: Transfer Poll - Chris Gray

I certainly understand the logic around Duke, but other than Kyle Rowe whose brother was on the team I don't think Danowski has ever taken an undergrad transfer in his entire time at Duke. And Rowe was a specialist (FOGO) making the chemistry fit easy. Danowski's big transfer pipeline has been with ...

Coach Wellner is a first class person and coach. Hope he gets a crack at a top job somewhere or stays on Coach Amplo's staff.

Re: Transfer Poll - Chris Gray

Update earlier today from College Crosse and Chris Jastrzembski on Chris Gray. They have heard that Duke, Cornell, Johns Hopkins and North Carolina are in the mix. Plus Syracuse has offered him the famed #22 jersey for the next two seasons. No mention of other Ivy League schools, including the earl...

Understood. Fair point and a good comment.
