Re: Fall Ball Scrimmages

Might not have upset 'em if they had put a few more shots on cage. 57 shots for Navy, 28 for the Red Dragons. Hope they turned out to be better navigators than shooters. If I remember correctly DMac, goalie Peter Roy from LI (most of the team was from LI) had a huge game vs Navy. Maybe some Red Dra...

Re: Tweak the College Rules

Well because it would give the defender a 50/50 chance at taking away the ball. Checks would be less violent and defenses would take more risks because of the possible reward. Then as an offense you would have to move the ball more quickly because of the increased ability to put it on the ground. H...

Re: Wouldn't it be nice...

Lax doesn't need to praise the lawyers, doctors and well to do lax alumni. It becomes expected. It is what happens when a bunch of small private schools need to boost enrollment but do not want to add football. All those small schools ended up being the best in the country!!! Lax alumni have ALWAYS ...

Re: Cortland '72 (and other years, too)

My college coach Jack McGetrick played on those teams. My first boss was on the 72 team, Burt Severns, he really taught me how to have fun while playing the game. Paul Wehrum, Tierney, Long. Team coached by Emmer. He had a lot of great stories. I have a recording on a CD somehwere he game me of the ...

Straight Sidewalls and No Offset would speed the game up even more than the shot clock. Please explain your thinking on how this would speed up game. Re: Tweak the College Rules

Keep the 80 and the dive. Remove the offset from the sticks and we will see a lot of problems go away. It helps with the growth of the game more than anything because it makes sticks easier to produce worldwide. We need a non-offset triangular shape. We are getting closer to bringing back the game!

Re: SAA 2019

Good season for Rhodes, that is a real good push. Dominating Ill Wes has to be the highlight because it was at their place. They ran into the Queen of the South Denison and played tough. Hopefully next years champ will represent as well as RHodes did this year. Not sure the boys at DU will like bei...

Re: SAA 2019

I'm also going to give congrats to Rhodes as a school. They have really put an emphasis on being solid in all sports. More than any other SAA school their athletic department, admissions staff and the president work together to get quality. How many conference championships has Rhodes won in the pas...

Great win for RHodes. That is how you make a statement to say you're at the next level.

Re: SAA 2019

So what does everyone think of Rhodes's (would you put an 's there?) draw? They get two rematches in the first two rounds if they win the first one.

Re: SAA 2019

Agreed. Watched their game vs. Centre online. Plenty of athleticism and skill players. Look at the lacrosse pedigree of some of their kids -- Bullis, McDonough, Malvern Prep, St. Stephens & St. Agnes, Severn (Md), Gilman, plus some NJ and other HS privates with strong programs. Lax pedigree is ...

Re: SAA 2019

Sewanee has beaten Roanoke, berry lost by 2 to hampton Sydney who won the Odac that year. Berry beat Colorado College in Colorado. Rhodes played Denison tough. Heck back in the SCAC days BSC won it and gave a very good Stevenson team a game. We have had some good teams. This years could be the one w...

Re: SAA 2019

The old saying is that you go from “who’s that? To who’s who, to who cares” in the snap of the fingers. Sewanee has won 4 of the possible titles and lost one last second on a man down goal. Rhodes is one of 3 teams to win a SAA title. No one is bashing Rhodes we have seen some good teams in this con...

Re: State of the Conference

Feel as though Rhodes deserves more respect for their consistent dominance over the past 2.5-3 seasons. Berry continues to struggle against the more skilled teams (Sewanee and Rhodes) due to their physicality and dirty tactics not being as scary as they think they are. Until Berry becomes a more sk...
