Re: Denver Pioneers 2024
Winning cures most of the problems. DU really doesn't have any star players this year, and still plays a rather blah style, and that it makes it very hard for anyone outside of Denver to care very much about this team. But now that the NCAA Selection Committee has Denver ranked #4 by the solid body...

Re: ODAC 2024
Roanoke is important to the overall health of the ODAC. They need to be a top 20 team as does HSC, W&L and Lynchburg. Nice to see Randy Mac continuing to improve. The landscape is changing under the feet of Roanoke, Lburg and HSC. Great programs w great history but CNU is slowly and steadily be...

Re: Worst Team in D1
I think it is safe to say there are several teams in D1 that are struggling to field competitive teams. The bottom 15 D1 teams all have a losing record. Of those teams last year, only 3 teams have a win vs a team with a winning record. Those 15 bottom teams have a combined record last year of 41 an...

Re: NESCAC
Lumping all the threads into one response For me, Tufts always find a way to reload and every year people are looking to their demise and fall from grace so when that happens Ill stop looking for them to be a preseason favorite. With regards to Middlebury, I think they generate a lot of convo becau...

Re: Can a D3 team without grad players win the National Title
I just looked at CNU roster and I think they are just over 60Dehuntshigwa’es wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 8:12 pm Not sure how this relates to fifth year players winning titles but large rosters hasn’t hurt Salisbury they are at about 53 , W&L 57 , Tufts 58. Who is over 60 other than Stevenson close to 70.

Re: Can a D3 team without grad players win the National Title
Another question which is somewhat related. Is a roster of 60+ players hurt the team in the long run? Hard to get reps for the freshman.

Re: ASUN 2024
Any thoughts on what happens to this conference after the spring season? It looks they will be down to 6 teams I am not sure but given what happened in football this year I guess anything could happen. I think if you created a "Big West" division of the Big East that might be cool. Imagin...

Re: Way too early Final Four
I guess along with predicting the final four here is a prediction for the top team in each conference and tourney selections way too early ACC: Duke (UVA, ND likely tournament teams) AE: VT ASUN: UT A10: Richmond BigE: GT (Denver likely tournament team) Big10: UMD (JHU and PSU likely tournament team...

Re: UVA 2024
James Madison (and ODU to a much lesser extent) is on the rise in UVA’s backyard. Watching to see their impact on UVA, VT , UMD and even PSU recruiting. Recruiting higher academic profile football and basketball players doest’t work if you’re not winning. JMU could take a bite out of UVA’s bottom l...

Re: CNU 2023
Excellent schedule! Do you know where the D1 pole is coming from? And the position of the other transfer (school also?) Thanks for the insider access! I heard of two D1 poles that have mentioned transferring to CNU Aren't all 3 of last years starters, Widhelm, Young, Beckmeyer, coming back? Yes, bu...

Re: York 2024
No offense to anyone playing on these teams. But by all accounts, this is a low level conference. Some of these teams occasionally get some upsets. But they are mostly the bottom 1/4 of D1 with the exception to the top 3. Lindenwood is at the bottom of this conference. It is still D1. And if that i...

Re: NESCAC
It seems like every off season there is some version of this same argument. It does make for some enjoyable reading when there are no games. Here are a few of my un requested opinions: 1. This really depends on what one considers a "low end" D1 team. Teams in the middle have potential to ...

Re: IL's Top 50 Men's College Lacrosse Players For 2024
Braden Erksa Eric Malever Daniel Kelly Eric Spanos Not one makes the Top 50? We shall see 2-1 against the final four in 2023 The only one on this list who has an argument is Erksa. Kelly and Spanos aren't close. Malever maybe if he was healthy but he's coming off a catastrophic leg injury so it's p...

Here are some questions: 1. Will Utah repeat as conference champions? 2. Will Air Force win their first ASUN title? 3. Will Jacksonville get the conference title and NCAA Tournament monkeys off their backs? 4. Will Bellarmine take another huge step and get their first conference tournament and post...

Re: W&L 2023
Valid points. But the main point I would make is the sport was not well know. W&L is in VA. many high schools in VA didn’t even have lacrosse offered in the 70’s and 80’s. The talent pool was not deep. Could some of the top players from the 70’s compete vs today’s athletes? Sure. But the depth ...
