Re: Big Ten 2019

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hop versus Penn State, wow, what a game. Penn State in a close game is about as fun to watch as it gets... but two weeks ago who thought JHU was capable of hanging with the Nittany Lions? A week ago, Hopkins was on life support and the Terps were looking at a 3 or 4 seed in the N...

Re: Maryland 2019

Another thing Terps fans could root for tomorrow is for Richmond to beat High Point. According to laf's RPI rankings Richmond currently has the #22 RPI, a scant .0057 behind #20 UMass. A win over 14-2 High Point would seem to almost certainly push Richmond to #20 and give the Terps another quality ...

Re: Maryland 2019

Timmy Monahan is having a good day so far for Towson (2g, 3a). The Terps could have used his outside shooting, no?

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)

Someone please explain to me why Syracuse isn't getting more scrutiny?

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread

https://extra.ncaa.org/solutions/rpi/Stats%20Library/nitty0503.pdf Really, look at the Cuse-Maryland lines. Cuse is 2-2 against T10; Terps are 1-4 against T10. A single Top 10 win is weighted more than a single loss at home to a +40 RPI team? And Cuse is being considered for a home game, while Maryl...

Re: 2019 Bracketology Thread

Pretty interesting that Syracuse hasn't gotten much discussion in the bubble talk. 10th in RPI with that loss to Colgate. The committee isn't supposed to weight when a win or loss occurred. Each game is supposed to carry equal importance. That Colgate loss is a bad loss...if not the worst loss of an...

Re: Maryland 2019

With Cornell down 4 with 5 minutes left in the game (even as Cornell is making a run here), you have to feel better about the Terps' at large bid.

Re: Maryland 2019

With Loyola barfing at home to Army, we need Yale to beat Cornell tonight. Then Towson needs to win. Otherwise, the Terps might be on the wrong side of the bubble. Crazy, 6 days ago, we were talking 3 seed.

Re: Maryland 2019

The second half of the game looked quarters 2-4 from last Saturday. The Terps couldn't get anything going offensively in the second half but got so many good looks in the first half. Defensively, they just got worn out. Hopkins got so many shot clock resets and the Terps had so many failed clears. 1...

Pensky Material wrote: Thu May 02, 2019 1:54 pm I would assume Maryland will have Corley covering Epstein this go around?
I'd expect Corley on Epstein and Makar on Williams. When Hopkins went EMO last game, the Terps shut off Marr. I'd expect a similar thing on the EMO and Welding playing him throughout the game.

Re: Big Ten 2019

This just in: Penn State is good. Their offense gets so much attention, but their defense is totally stuffing Rutgers, who is working on a near 25-minute scoring drought.

Any predictions on tonight's game?

I'm going 11-9 Terps in a physical game.

Keegan Wilkinson at Marist has done a really good job. 63-44 so far through almost 8 years in Poughkeepsie.

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)

I disagree with posters who say that Hopkins had only a few wrinkles in their offensive game plan. Granted, I've only seen 3 or 4 Hopkins games this year, but their offense on Saturday looked more like what Rutgers did to Maryland 2 weeks ago, which Rutgers aped from Penn State. You all can tell me,...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)

Give Petro, his staff, and players a ton of credit for last night. Nareweski changed the whole game, but Petro's game plan was perfectly executed. On offense, Hop's biggest issue all year with its motion offense was drawing slides. Hop used Penn State's offensive scheme (that OSU and RU also used bu...

Re: Maryland 2019

And what makes him good is that he knows things can be improved. He makes changes to HIS coaching .... BUt, He needs a good mirror session to get back to knowing his Achilles heel has ALWAYS been passive defenses. Last night wasn't about a passive defense. In fact, the Terps gave up several goals f...

WOMBAT, Mod Emeritus wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 10:33 pm How did MD only wind up with 20 shots, 13 of which were on goal, and 11 went in?

Definitely take the W, but those are some WTFoxtrot numbers.

Which result in... 2 saves.

I would expect MD to shoot more often next time.

CRAB!
13 shots on goal. 14 turnovers. 4 assisted goals.
