Re: FanLax Forum Poll
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, will ask ZoneSurgeon (ZP) and Unknown Participant (UP) to refocus their priorities and stop the fake news and anti-Ursinus narrative. A top 5-6 ranking is certainly well deserved by the UC Bears. Evidence includes the following: they were and are the premier...

Re: NESCAC 2020
This conversation has pretty much confirmed my suspicion that the Thompson criticism is opportunistic BS made in bad faith with pretty much nothing to back it up. If anyone had anything even remotely constructive to say I’d be all ears. But the discourse so far has been laughable.

Re: NESCAC 2020
This current issue aside, from this board I've sensed some animosity to Amherst HC. I have no idea why. I recently listened to a pod with the HC and he seems like a coach and individual I would be thrilled to have coach/mentor my son. It feels like the Thompson dogpile has been an annual occurrence...

Re: NESCAC 2020
Why does it seem like any mention of Amherst automatically brings out multiple “coach is an embarrassment, fire him, what a joke” etc. comments? This happens every year on the NESCAC board (or at least it feels that way) but I don’t really understand why.

Re: NESCAC 2020
Gee whiz - must have really hit a nerve! Hope you didn’t take too much time away from your job/ family to research & compose your magnum opus. But the time spent is telling - sorry about getting you so upset. 😉 Sorry my man, what is telling is that you think taking the time to be accurate is so...

Re: NESCAC 2020
The comment about fourth-quarter scoring is also similarly narrow minded. The vast majority of all the goals that Salisbury has given up this year have also come in the fourth quarter, against their second and third team defenseman. Salisbury is also averaging 20 goals a game and could easily put u...

Re: NESCAC 2020
In the last game, pretty much all the seniors played in the 4th knowing it was the last game, so studs like Pollack, Donahue, Shanks, Trieber etc. stayed in and all other seniors on the bench played, sometimes out of position. Just to add context to this that others might miss: the fourth quarter w...

Re: Centennial Conference 2020
What a comeback from Ursinus! Super entertaining game. Someone tell the play-by-play guy that having his voice rise like he's asking a question after every single thought is unbelievably difficult to listen to.

Re: NESCAC 2020
All NESCAC spring sports officially cancelled. All NESCAC schools operating remotely. Can’t believe it.

Re: NESCAC 2020
To be honest, I expected the NESCAC to go closed contests (no spectators, teams and relevant staff only) and I would have agreed with that decision. It fits one of the main counters (social distancing) preventing crowds from assembling in close proximity where a virus could spread quickly. I agree t...

Re: NESCAC 2020
Middlebury has suspended all spring sports as well.
In case anyone is interested, here is a website that is tracking American colleges/universities as they make decisions based on COVID-19. Pretty helpful table.

Re: NESCAC 2020
"The risk of having hundreds of people return from their travels to the campus is too great," Biddy Martin, the college's president, said in a letter to the college community. "The best time to act in ways that slow the spread of the virus is now." Forgot to mention this, from a...

Re: NESCAC 2020
And when Tufts cancels their season you will feel alot different. From a purely selfish standpoint, as a NESCAC/D3 lacrosse fan it would be so frustrating to have potentially one of the greatest offenses ever get shut down by a virus. I definitely feel for all the spring athletes whose seasons (or ...

Re: COVID19 season cancellations
The over reaction and hysteria surrounding this virus (flu virus nothing more) is crazy. If you have COPD, CHD, severe asthma, over 70, etc., you are at risk. Otherwise according to all I have read you may not even know you were exposed. I remember playing at Georgetown in the early 80's they had a...

Re: NESCAC 2020
Great defenses usually prevail by the end of the NESCAC season. Great defenses usually win D3 lacrosse National Championships. It seems like all anyone talks about on this thread is offense. I think this is more saying than fact. Here are how the last ten national champions ranked in Scoring Offens...

Re: NESCAC 2020
I’m old enough to remember the chatter in the 2019 NESCAC board about Thompson leaving for the Harvard job. Everyone relax. Eleven NESCAC teams are playing lacrosse. All of them are more interesting than unverifiable rumors about a coach, or coronavirus, or whatever.

Re: NESCAC 2020
You can't just call it a pick'em ....Come On Man, you got pick a winner AH23...it seems like you got Jumbos in your heart but Mamaonth in your head... My picks are the teams that are bolded and italicized! The game lines are just quoted from the original post. I’d have put Tufts at least at -1.5! I...

Re: NESCAC 2020
Week 2! Cheers to another week of NESCAC Lacrosse! Excited to hear everyone's thoughts! 8-) Some interesting lines here! - Bowdoin (-3.5) vs Hamilton : Continentals keep it close or win outright. I...think I like Hamilton to at least make a push for a NESCAC tourney spot? Maybe? - WNE vs Wes (-7.5)...
