I think the Terps struggles on offense have a lot to do with 44, 18, 6 and 22 in white.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 5:04 pm Hopkins D saving the day after the O racks up nearly four minutes in penalties.
Wild game.
Hard to recall the last time Maryland has struggled so much on O.

Quint - “if you’re hovering over a ground ball, you’re going to get lit up”. Yup. And it may be a 3 minute nonreleasable.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
In the 2 games last year, Dunn went 15-24 against Wierman. FOGOs are all about match ups, and it looks like Dunn's style/technique/etc causes Wierman problems. Statistically, Maryland's defense this year is much better than last year (5th in adj def efficiency this year compared to 19th last year.....

On Collison, I'll just use this discussion as an excuse the lament the death of the old-school middie. They just don't really exist anymore - there are no Rabils, Harrisons, Curriers (thumb on the ball at the dot notwithstanding), Tinneys, Schriebers, Conrads, let alone Dressels. The game has chang...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Completely insane Dixon is already giving B1G freshman of the year to one of the Rutgers guys or Fyock when the Jays are 4-0, beat them both, and Kilrain exists. He's the best freshman in the conference and it isn't close. He's probably the third or fourth best defenseman in the Big Ten period afte...

No idea what the stats are, but feels like the jays are massively losing the GB battle.

It is amazing how collison and Melendez can just entirely disappear for long periods. They’re excellent players. How does this happen?

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
As a reminder of how our lives used to be, go look at the Army/Colgate box score. Army lost 14-11. Army won 80% of the face-off and put more shots on cage (29-20). But, Colgate's goalie saved 18/29 (62%) and Army's goalie saved 6/20 (30%). Remember how hard it was to win with the 40% goaltending? Im...

Re: Notre Dame 2024
The Kavanaughs are both undeniably talented, high effort players. They're also on the borderline of being dirty players. They're exactly the kind of kids you'd love to have on your team and you'd hate having on other teams. But what makes me despise them isn't really them. It's that the ESPN announ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Great game. Only nit from my POV was the team was playing not to lose vs playing to win (with about 2 minutes left, they stalled that possession and did not generate any type of offense) during second to last possession of regulation when they were up by 1. I get that's what QK was saying - but I d...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
That's quite the win. They just kept grinding away. Not pretty offensively, but it wasn't exactly sloppy. I think you just have to give both defenses an awful lot of credit.
