Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Well that was an exciting and physical game. Was my first away game ever in person that I went to that was out of the state of Maryland. The 2-0 start was nice but I just had a gut feeling that this would be a very taxing game and it was. Pros- Luke and Eric had good games. But they can only keep a ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Was such a wonderful time being back on campus and seeing a game at Ridley! As always there is such an infectious, raucous crowd that comes to every home game at Ridley and this team feeds off of all this energy They really were determined to win and prove that last week’s win against Maryland wasn’...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

What a great day Tailgating alumni back and a thumping of Hopkins a couple of takes 1, 50/50 at the face off x Good things will happen 2. How good is our defense The communication the slides and recovery were smooth Staudt stood tall again 3 It looks like Toomey has leaned that you can ginve underc...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Does anyone know if Ridley allows backpacks/food in?

Is there a spectator/fan policy online that we can read to double check procedures. Haven’t been back to an on campus game in a couple years

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Freshman Minicus is starting. Rest of offensive group is Kamish, James, Higgins, Lindsey and Poitras. Pocheco needs to win at least 50% for Hounds to have a chance. Have watched offense past two weeks and they are moving the ball very well. Think they can put up double digits v MD. Defense is stron...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Watching the Richmond UMD highlights. Either Richmond had a bad day or UMD is just that good and have no drop off from last year. It’s most likely both.. So to the coaches and fans here- just how do you attack this defense? How do you get decent looks against such a stout unit. On the other side- ho...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

12-12 tie in today’s scrimmage v UNC. Lots of good things. Higgins is a beast so far this year. Some nice work by a few freshmen in Minicus, Murphy and Haberman. Sally with a second goal in two games from LSM. Up 10-9 after three and some subs came in on D. Much better start to this year over last....

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

Heard it was 10-6 after 3 which is when they pulled the starters Heard 11-6 and the twos went in Loyola up Staudt looked good in the cage Portrais Higgins James all looked good offensively I heard Poitras was out of the scrimmage due to an injury…? Unless you’re mistaking him for someone else

Re: Toughest/Softest Lacrosse Schedule 2023?

Conference scheduling is locked in, so not much any team can do about that Ivy, B1G, and ACC have built in tough schedules because of conference play (most years)… A good number of teams have good OOC schedules so we should all be treated to some fun OOC early season games. Loyola has another very ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

One strategy that I’m wondering about is if you could platoon the face off guys. Use Pacheco, cottone and Allen as a three headed dog (no pun intended) in order to mix and match looks against the other teams FOGO.

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

I’ve posted this in another thread: Call me slightly optimistic but I have a inkling that loyola might surprise some teams this year They lose Olmstead and lindley at attack but return a more natural QB attackman with a nice supporting cast of scorers. A very very good freshman class can possibly ma...

Re: Georgetown 2023

Same schedule as last year except HPU for MSM so an incredible schedule gets even tougher. Have to give Warne and Lee Reed credit. When it went bad they watered down the schedule a bit. Built a winning culture again with the class of 2018 and now Hoyas clearly want to play against and hopefully be ...

https://loyolagreyhounds.com/news/2022/12/14/mens-lacrosse-loyola-lacrosse-teams-announce-2023-schedules.aspx Men and women’s teams have announced their schedule. Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Only one Friday/Sunday doubleheader this year instead of two, which is better, but that's been replaced with Tuesday night games vs. UNC and UVA (both at Homewood, thankfully). Maybe we catch the Hoos napping. A boy can dream. Zero cupcakes on this schedule. PM putting a lot on the line here and it...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Schedule out: https://hopkinssports.com/news/2022/12/9/milliman-announces-2023-mens-lacrosse-schedule.aspx That stretch from February 11th to March 19th is absolutely brutal. Talk about death row in terms of extremely tough games. Georgetown, UNC, Loyola, Utah, St Joes, UVA, Syracuse, Navy, Delaware.

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

The thing id like to hear from those who attended is how the offense moved in terms of the ball movement player to player. There were too many times over the last few years where the ball would die in a stick and then a forced pass to the inside or a late pass for a contested step down. Were things ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023

https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/fall-all-access-is-loyola-rebuilding-or-reloading-/60302 This is also a fantastic read to end your Friday on. Terry Foy was at practice for fall ball a couple weeks ago and broke down a ton of things. He’s mentioned the freshman class throughout this article an...
