Re: Hobart 2025

Also, FWIW, I'm not sure Adam Hardy would want to be back in Geneva or that Raymond wants him back. I couldn't read that relationship from the outside. If we are talking about Hardy and Ashmore, what about Justin Porter, who was here as recently as last year and is a defensive specialist. And speaki...

Re: Hobart 2025

50+ guys on a team, and each will have their own experience. I am interested in your experience too, Laxbro19, but am also aware that every team has its internal conflicts. Throw in conflicts with parents, fans, and administration, and it is a pretty complicated job. Can't please everyone. Even wit...

Re: Hobart 2024

I was glad to hear the D stepped up in the 3rd and 4th. Though the record doesn't show it, they've made steady improvement all year ... marked by highs and lows for sure, but overall improving. I credit Firth a lot. He's a leader and plays with a solid controlled aggression. Two caused turnovers yes...

Re: Hobart 2024

I only caught the end, but it sounded like a really tight game. We could've really easily lost that one, especially with the one minute unreleasable. I feel like we narrowly escaped with the W. Ted and Dave were struggling to find good things to say. At one point in the wrap up he said "The off...

Re: Hobart 2024

Kewley was injured for a while. He might have an additional year. With Ward and Delaney, I think that's it.
I'd love to see Will Corbett out there one day. We'll get Dino back. I hope Begina can get healthy. Considine will be a huge asset. Galiano will be a help.

Re: Hobart 2024

 Except, it's true ... losing is a disease. Or, to put it another way, winning is a skill that can be learned. I go back to 3 quarter games. We didn't know how to win. We showed up at the dance, busted a couple of moves, chatted the girl up, and then she left with someone else. Glengarry Glenro...

Re: Hobart 2024

100% agree on sports psychologist. FWIW WS soccer uses one all the time. Their coach is the winningest soccer coach in the NCAA, if I'm not mistaken. I would be surprised if Lacrosse doesn't have access to one. But what lax needs is not someone who works with individuals, but more a whole team appro...

Re: Hobart 2024

I think Raymond deserves at least another year. If next year is a disaster, then start rethinking it. Brundage has been terrific. He's created a system in which guys get open and get hands free enough to shoot. He's not responsible for poor shots. I'd like to see more happening inside, but until the...

Re: Hobart 2024

There were no timeouts available. The one on the scoreboard was an error. Will be very sorry to see Bach go. Ward and Datellas are graduating too. Shea too. I appreciate wanting the seniors to go out with a win, but I hope coach plays a mostly junior and younger team next week. The future is with th...

Re: Hobart 2024

Sunnylax, there is not the same buzz as the 80s, but there are lots of good reasons for that. First, the school switched to semesters, and play in general has shifted earlier. No one wants to watch on the Boz in Feb or March. And the school itself has changed. Half of the students are varsity athete...

Re: Hobart 2024

For the players that might be reading our comments - we are just a bunch of old dudes who remember ourselves as being better than we were. The season is your control. Hip Hobart! You mean some guys who have 3 or 4 national championship rings? Yea when they were division 3 and not nearly as many col...

No ... I want Lucy to hold that football for me one more time for HPU.

Re: Hobart 2024

It was a "would've, could've" day. Out hustled on groundballs. More turnovers than St. Joes. Another twenty minute scoring drought ... this time to start the game. Clears below 80%. 0/4 on EMO. Only statistic where we outperformed St. Joes was 18 saves by Ellis ... he kept us in it. I was ...

Re: Hobart 2024

It is a terrible day for lacrosse in Geneva. It is chilly, soaking wet, and the wind is howling. All of these things are to our potential benefit. But if they contribute to another turnover fest, we're screwed.
Here's to a 4 quarter game, a long bench, and playing like it's fun.

Re: Hobart 2024

Not much to say about podcast. Coach just sort of says that the players need to play better and for all four quarters on game day. At least that's what I heard. At this point, that might be the bottom line. I'd still rather see him play a longer bench.

Re: Hobart 2024

I feel terrible for the players too. And for the program. We thought last year would be an offensive rebuilding year, but a strong defensive year with returning seniors. But the strong D didn't materialize. We knew this year would be a defensive rebuilding year. And it is. Maybe next year brings the...
