Every NCAA Division I Men’s team started the 2018 season with 1,000 Points and a ranking.  (The ranking is based on the average rating for each team from the Krach/Z-Ratings and Massey ratings.)  We ran the first five games of the season and, by year, this is what the rankings looked like.  The teams are listed (below) with the #1 team after 5 games, Albany, at the top and the #70 team after 5 games, NJIT, Furman, High Point, and  Binghamton, at the bottom.

Based on the results of the first five weeks, each NCAA team received their Opening Points.  The top team, Albany, received 1,000 points.  #2, Notre Dame received 990 points.  #3, Maryland received 980 points, etc.  The four last place teams , four teams that lost their first five games, Binghamton, NJIT, Furman, and High Point, received 330 points each.  You can see the complete list of teams and points below.

With each team with their new Points and the 2017 season having little influence on this 2018 season, we started the 2018 season anew.

(Before we move onto the 2018 Season, because this is our first time using the 10% Ante ranking system, here is some commentary on how 10% Ante is doing so far.)

AND, for the 2018 season… We decided to use a different Pre-Season Ranking method. As it’s already game #13 for some, Game 17 for others, we ran the entire season with every team starting with 1,000 points.
