Why is Duke #1?! How can Utah be higher ranked than UVA?! The answer to these and most every question of this nature is… Because the FanLax Computer cares about one thing and one thing only: Best Wins and Worst Losses. Duke is #1 because they have the Best Wins. UNC won big over Denver (FanLax Computer doesn’t care about game scores) but Duke beat Denver and Robert Morris. UVA crushed Towson (again, FanLax Computer doesn’t care about game scores) but Utah’s win over Bellarmine was a better win. Bellarmine is higher ranked than Towson and look at Utah’s and UVA’s SOSs, Strength of Schedules. As for Utah’s loss, their loss to Denver was not a “bad loss”. Bottomline, this is where the season is starting. And, with Bellarmine playing Jacksonville tomorrow, we’ll continue to learn more.
