All you need to do is look at the Preseason All-American Teams and the Tewaaraton Watch List to see that there are certain players that the Lax World is rooting for. And, though we’re only a couple weeks into the 2020 season, numerous of these players are not disappointing. 10 Players like: Michael Sowers, Jeff Teat, Chris Gray, Tre LeClaire, UVA’s Michael Kraus and Matt Moore, Ethan Walker, Logan Wisnauskas, Brendan Curry, and Grant Ament.
But there must be some players that pleasantly surprise us with their play in 2020. So there’s no confusion, not players who are #11-#20 after these players spoken to above. Players who are playing as well as and better than the players above. (Except Michael Sowers. No one is playing better than Princeton’s Michael Sowers right now.) These are these not-so-obvious Great Players:
- Sean Lulley JR A Penn – Lulley, pictured above, is a Long Island kid who is performing as well as, if not better than, every player in NCAA D1 Men’s Lacrosse (except Sowers).
- John Piatelli JR A Cornell – Like Lulley, a Junior, and performing at a high-level.
- Jack Hannah M JR Denver – One of very few middies on this list.
- Jack Myers SO A OSU – A Sophomore and performing.
- Brendan Nichtern SO A Army – Another Sophomore and leading Army’s O.
- Robert Clark SR A Georgetown – Playing weaker teams but performing.
- UMBC D – Along with Army’s D, the best performing D thus far this season.
- Aidan Olmstead JR A Loyola – Performing well.
- Justin Anderson M SR UNC – Along with Chris Gray, leading UNC’s O.
- Jake Carraway A SR Georgetown – See Robert Clark above.
