For the first five games of the season, every team has a pre-season ranking.  Our first 10% Ante season was in the Spring of 2018.  For this first season, we used a combination of several ratings including LaxPower, Massey, and others.  We also posted this pre-season ranking and gave people an opportunity to adjust the order.  In the name of candor, the people at FanLax were substantially less concerned about the intricacies of this pre-season ranking because we are aware that even if a team is grossly mis-ranked, as long as, during the first five games of the season, they demonstrate with wins and losses that this is the case, their rank will adjust to the proper level by Week Five and will be established on Week Six.  None the less, we want transparency, we want people to feel comfortable with our system, so we take the time to make sure people are comfortable with the pre-season rankings.

For every season following the inaugural season, the pre-season rankings are based on the rankings at the conclusion of the previous season.  And, like the first ranking, we’re transparent and allow people to contribute to the ranking.
