A stunning result on Dave Paddock Way as Fairport holds Victor to one second half goal while getting the game winner at 0:08.
While never dominating the game, Victor’s FOGO Regan Endres left the game late in 2Q and after that Victor couldn’t buy a FO.
Victor. 4 4 0 1 - 9

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
In the featured nitecap in Brighton, the Barons rattled off 8 straight goals before Canandaigua notched their first as time ran out in the 2ndQ. Brighton put on a clinic with high tempo passing that led to goal after goal while winning most FO and dominating ground balls. When Canandaigua did have the opportunity to get a shot off it was usually high or wide though the Brighton GK came up with some nice saves.

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
Looks like B is wide open, CA getting smacked and Victor losing by one to Fairport... Brighton playing very well right now
Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
Cdga bounces back after getting 'smacked' with a win in the home opener over IQ. 14-4 Final.
BLN Week Four - first game.
Love the play on the grass field. None of that fancy one-handed turf ground ball stuff. You gotta bend over, like a duck (quote JJ)!

Penn Yan over Cazenovia 9-6

Penn Yan over Livonia-Avon 18-1
Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
You'd think PY and/or Livonia would NOT schedule this game anymore. The blowout result is basically the same every year.
So tonight is a better contest as Penfield comes to visit PY. Five wins in a row for the Patriots/Chiefs in this rivalry so they've been a tough opponent. Classic big school-little school fight here but PY always is game for these size mismatches. Expect Mustang Nation to turn out in numbers to support.

PY 1-0 over Penfield end of 1st
PY 3-2 halftime
PY 4-2 end of 3rd
PY 4-2 Final
Great game to watch, very physical but well ref’d. Only man up with 1:01 left in game.

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
Lots of games today between Sections 5 & 6. Brighton v St Joseph looks to be the best and maybe a matchup between the two best. Barons have been playing well since their 10-9 early loss to Hilton. In that game they lost something like 17/20 FO and fell behind 8-2 before rallying though falling short. St Joe is 7-0 including 12-7 wins over Pittsford and 13-9 over Irondequoit.
Brighton at St Joseph
Nichols at Penn Yan
Canisius at Aquinas
Greece at East Aurora
Penfield at Orchard Park
Pittsford at Lancaster
Thomas at Hamburg
McQuaid at St Francis

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
When I approached the field at St Joe’s on Saturday there was 2 min and change left in the 1stQ and Brighton leading 4-1. By the time I got to my seat it was 4-3 and very early in the 2ndQ StJ took the lead and went to HT up 9-6. Brighton was having a poor time at the X and in reality both teams looked like they wanted to sleep in on Saturday. StJ had a number of mental mistakes and dropsies and Brighton looked a shadow of themselves when they played Canandaigua and so I departed. Somehow, Brighton outscored StJ in the 2nd half 4-3, but I had expected more.

What’s the word? Is Geneva at Canandaigua worth seeing tomorrow?

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
Went to the home of the Braves to see Canandaigua take on Geneva. Outside of the initial trading of goals, this game was dominated by CA and it became clear that with CA winning almost all the FO and Geneva using a zone defense that CA would methodically move the ball about while Geneva slowly wears out which is what happened. Geneva was able to get two late goals to keep it close at the half, 7-3, but saw little of the ball afterwards.
G 1 2 0 0 - 3
C 4 3 3 3 - 13
This was my first visit to new Braves Field and its a very impressive facility from the scoreboard, seating and field-side standing area, modern concession stand, lighting and restrooms. Was also very impressed with the adjacent outdoor box lacrosse facility with plastic sides, netting and turf surface that was being used by the youngsters. This will certainly help keep future Braves on the field.

PY taking Lake-to-Lake Rd up to meet Cdga trow. Midday start and this should be a good game.
Olde time rivalry week for Cdga; first Geneva, second Penn Yan. Love it! Only thing better would be playing this one at Evans.
Most likely a lot of blue and orange in the stands t'row. Maybe a blue horse sighting is possible? Maybe one of the Schaar clan will show? Or the Martino bros or Peck bros? Easter weekend...could be quite a few alumni legends walking around. Spazman better hone up his game for this one!

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
Another great game between PY & CA. The Braves come out on top 10-9 in OT. Gritty and chippy near the end. PY went up 2-0 to start the game, then a big run by CA. PY battled back to tie it up with :14 to go. In OT CA had two good looks in their first possession, PY then could not get a shot off and turned the ball over. CA took a timeout and Sr., St. Bonaventure bound, Belles put it in the cage from the left. That was meeting #84 between the two teams, and guess what, all tied up 42-42.
Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
Some interesting games happening tonight for the area blue bloods (Thomas @ U Fpt, Cdga @ P'ford, Victor @ Penfield).
I think both Pen and Thomas will have scoring problems against traditionally stout defenses. 4-6 goal margin in each.
Cdga has been on a nice run but they'll be challenged tonight and could very easily lose this game. Home field may sway the outcome but I think the Braves will just squeak this one out.
Hilton looks to stay in the conversation and should take care of business against Schroeder.
Whitman and Midlakes bring near identical (winning) records into their FL tussle. Lot of seniors on the Midlakes squad, zero on the MW squad. Gotta go w the seniors here and Midlakes. Both not in the class of PY or PalMac but not a bad contest here.

Re: NY Section V (Rochester area)
After watching this Penfield team plod along all season they finally pull out their most impressive win of the season. Penfield beats Victor in OT 7-6. Way to go Penfield.
I use to be a people person until people ruined that for me.
