I will never understand some of these college coaches and their reluctance to call a time out in crucial spots ?? Take a time out, settle down the offense - make sure you are all on the same page .

Why call the time out? They just had a two minute time out between periods so the offense should have been settled and on the same page. They got the shot they wanted, just did not cash it in.

I am pretty sure they were not trading snickerdoodle recipes during the change over to OT. My guess is that the conversation with the offense went something like this:
If they do A.....we run X
If they do B.....we run Y
If they do C....we do Z
In the back of the coaches mind she has if they do not do A, B or C I call time out. If the circle team is in possession and in trouble she calls time out.

You save the TO for an instance that a player is in trouble if the offense is putting pressure on the defense you just let it ride.

Different strokes for different folks but if she did call time out and then a player with the ball got trapped or something similar people would be bemoaning the fact that she wasted her time out.

You would call time out. I would not in this particular instance.

Looks absolutely miserable and the woman official is taking way to long on reviews, set up. One coach yelled "the girls are freezing".

I do not think there is another sport where the refs have to constantly meet on the field to discuss calls and delay the games. It's really ridiculous.

It's the same in all sports. The delaying on-field discussions and trips to the monitors. So tedious.

I'd put all instant replay multiple angle rules and review technology in a dumpster and start a nice big fire. Much rather go back to just letting refs make the calls. I don't care if they blow a few. All part of sports. The time wasted to "get it right" isn't worth it.

She didn't seem to generate much velocity on the shot. Maybe that had something to do with it. Did she have time/room to run in and maybe improve her opportunity? All moot now of course but...

Curious if anyone else thought M Tyrell didn't look herself? Is she a bit banged up? She usually is buzzing around with good speed but thought I didn't see the same type of movement. I have only watched a few Syracuse games this year so I could be way off.

I would say Nat shoots side arm a lot which can be easy to track and not very fast.
