Typo Lake Forest beat Hope and Colorado College
Re: 2024 Pool C
I think the NESCAC and the Liberty get 5 of the 10 pools C bids with the Liberty getting 3 and the NESCAC getting two (excluding the conference winner). Hard sell for the NESCAC getting 4 this year. Everyone tallked about Bowdoin being so good this year but they have one quality win against Amherst. Liberty this year is the top division for sure.

i posted in the regional ranking thread that i think LL gets three. NESCAC and Centennial combined with have 5 ODAC will have 2 and CNU gets a spotThe12lov3 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 8:57 am I think the NESCAC and the Liberty get 5 of the 10 pools C bids with the Liberty getting 3 and the NESCAC getting two (excluding the conference winner). Bowdoin is out unless they win the conference
Re: 2024 Pool C
Lake Forest is a good example of the guys doing the regional rankings not being thorough. Lake Forest will probably get their AQ but how is it so gd difficult to get things right?
Re: 2024 Pool C
They are a miss on regional rankings. Are you sure this 5 team conference gets an AQ?
Re: 2024 Pool C
Can't say I ever pay attention to the Midwest Lacrosse conference but I am now confused with their bid status. They have indeed received an automatic bid for their conference tourney winner the past three years and those years they had 6 (2023), 7 (2022) and 4 (2021) teams. How did a league with 4 teams have an auto-bid? Why do they have one this year with 5 teams? CLC does not with 6 teams (as they should not). Is that just because of how young CLC is as a thrown together group of schools? Is the MLC being grandfathered in (in 2019 and 2020 they had 12 teams)?

Re: 2024 Pool C
What is St. Mary's (MD) doing in Region II with the LL and other NY teams? Surely that is a mistake right? Or is this another example of the NCAA trying to minimize travel costs by making odd groupings?
Re: 2024 Pool C
SMCM is in Region II due to conference affiliation.

For those existing conferences who lost participating teams and fell below the 6 team AQ minimum, there is a 2 year grace period, whereby they are still eligible for the AQ so long as they have 4 remaining teams. Using your data the MLC, having had the minimum 6 members last year, will still be eligible for an AQ next year too if still below minimum.
For new conferences, there is a 2 year waiting period before eligible for an AQ. The CLC’s waiting period expires after this year. For the 25’ season they’ll have an AQ.

Re: 2024 Pool C
Thanks DP. So how does that play out with a league like the Midwest, which seems to be vacillating up and down. They were down to 4 in 2021 (so should have entered the 2 year grace period) but then went back to 7 and then 6. So, it would then have reset because they went back to at least 6? And now once down to 5 again this is the first year of a second grace period?DeepPocket wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 12:31 pmTwo rules at play.pcowlax wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 12:05 pmCan't say I ever pay attention to the Midwest Lacrosse conference but I am now confused with their bid status. Re: 2024 Pool C
MLC winner has an AQ this year, there are 5 teams. Two teams are ending Lacrosse after this year. 3 teams are moving to the NACC next year. NACC will be 13 strong next year.
Re: 2024 Pool C
re Lake Forest. I think that no matter the situation with their conference they should be included in the rankings. Like Salisbury if they can’t qualify for an AQ they would be in line for a pool B and Salisbury is included in the regional rankings. Obviously Lake Forest won’t beat bury for the B. But the point needs to be made.

Re: 2024 Pool C
i saw this. not buying it. no way Ohio Wesleyan with 2 regional wins, is getting in over Roanoke (4 regional wins) and Gettysburg (3 regionals )
Re: 2024 Pool C
I hear you. Do they regionalize it for those “western” teams and get them a bid they don’t deserve based on the softness of the region?
