Re: Games Today
Game time listed for Army/Navy was 2:48. Announcers engaging in a little exaggeration fun to embellish their distaste for the new rules.

Re: Games Today
It was an incredibly physical game. Emily Messinese reportedly lost front teeth and went back in the game (!). Navy was impressive esp since their top player Yovino out with injuries and announcers said others out as well.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 3:48 am Game time listed for Army/Navy was 2:48. There's a pic on IG that shows the damage. Chipped tooth a couple to the side of center.cltlax wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 12:49 pmWonder if she was wearing a mouthguard?lacrossemwj wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 8:58 amIt was an incredibly physical game. Clark was a very good HS player and has continued to increase her game in college - she has definitely jumped levels.Womenslaxxfan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 4:20 pmGalica a very nice player. But Rachel Clark was acc rookie of the year with 64 goals, a uva frosh record. She may have been shut down in high school, but when she got to uva, she was lights out impactful….watcherinthewoods wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 10:39 amI remember watching a broadcast of a PIAA game (district playoffs? state playoffs?) that my nephew was calling. Stoga vs. Unionville at Stoga. Unionville with the upset. Clark, the senior, a non-factor in the game for the Pioneers. Unionville shut her down ... and Stoga outcoached IMO. Some sophomore named Galica nearly put the team on her back to prevent the loss. Kid has game.
Re: Games Today
While Galica has been an excellent addition to UVA and was an essential player in the BC win Clarke was on a different level as a scorer her frehman year. As far as ACC rookie of the year I think its UVA goalie Josephson who deserves that . Its easily the biggest difference for UVA this year. This whole the new coaches have "changed the culture " is BS, winning changes everything. That said Clarke had a bad game against UVA , maybe nerves ,maybe UVA stepping up against a former team member. I thought she should have been in the running for Tewaaraton finalist but that game was bad enough to knock her of that . On a personally disappointing note I did take some pleasure in watching UVA beat the former teammate who left essentially because she did not feel the team was good enough. Still plenty of time for that transfer to work out for her , time will tell.8meterPA wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:03 pmClark was a very good HS player and has continued to increase her game in college - she has definitely jumped levels.Womenslaxxfan wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 4:20 pmGalica a very nice player. Folks--it's Rachel Clark. No "e" at the end of her name. You're mixing up heroes from Philly.ACClaxfan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 2:39 pmWhile Galica has been an excellent addition to UVA and was an essential player in the BC win Clarke was on a different level as a scorer her frehman year. Josephson is a redshirt freshman. In the 2022 class, 6 of 8 were redshirted.

Lehigh offense struggling without her. No one replacing her fifty goals.8meterPA wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 1:48 pmThe grad transfer from Lehigh had a very nice career and up her game this year for UVA. The contrast between the male and female announcers here is brutal. One yells, and talks over the other. The other gives intelligent commentary. Good game, and great effort by Penn.

Re: Games Today
Watching the Navy game. They are annihilating Lehigh 9-0. Shots on goal are 18-3. I’m surprised they have 3. But the Lehigh goalie is awesome. She has 9 saves already. If I’m her I run right to the portal and get the heck out of there. She is really good and the team and defense is really bad. I wonder if she would be considered a top goalie somewhere else. I’ve seen her twice and both times she stood in her head.
Re: Games Today
Can someone please explain how Loyola and Florida remain so highly ranked despite generally weak schedules and overall wins?

The Ivies are definitely back in the conversation post-COVID, but keep in mind that Loyola brutalized Princeton and Princeton beat Penn. Florida did beat Maryland and Princeton and JMU. Maryland is tied at half on the road at Princeton. It's a weird year.
(I was impressed with Loyola after the Princeton game ... and started to believe. They were a different team vs, Penn today)
Re: Games Today
I agree, the Ivies are back in the conversation. If Princeton wins draws they will be a tough out. Maryland's FOGO and the goalie were outstanding today. Penn looked awesome!watcherinthewoods wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 8:03 pmThe Ivies are definitely back in the conversation post-COVID, but keep in mind that Loyola brutalized Princeton and Princeton beat Penn. Ivies are definitely back in the conversation, great game by Penn and nice to see them back at their best after a tough couple of conference games.
The Princeton Maryland game was also good, it’s a shame the Princeton offense went cold in the third quarter or it would have been much tighter.
Both were fun games to watch tonight! Go Ivies!
