Why are some of you so afraid about admitting where you really stand?
Woke - being "awake" to societal problems and acknowledging they exist. Originally focused on acknowleding institutional or systemic racism. The term was used a lot in the black community.

Who's afraid of admitting where they stand? Are you "woke"? Or do you call anything you don't understand "woke"?

Right wingers now use the term for most any social problem they dislike. Women want to keep the right to vote? Woke.

I remember growing up when Rice a Roni was the San Francisco treat. In 2024 the new San Francisco treat is something you hope you don't step in while walking to work.
Would not surprise us to learn that China is also in the pockets of the officials of these cities, with the notion that this has urban-to-rural sprawl. Playing the long look, to to tear us apart thread by thread. Portland is now having that come to Jesus moment where their progressiveness with drugs is now pivoting back to norms, as they watched the problem and their citizenry health decline....must have cost them too much cash, othewise they would have likely not pivoted. We are enabling China to set up camp on our southern border to infiltrate and get us further hooked on low priced drugs. I've argued we need this influx of bodies in the USA as are population is in decline AND more and more become either killed or hooked on drugs; death by 1000 cuts.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

It has just become a byword for antipathy to racial and gender awareness, and for worse things. Have to admit that the Right's ability to transform descriptives into dirty words is what they do best. They are pretty much policy free, but they stoke discord better than anyone.

The 3/5 ths clause??? Does that mean that only 3/5 ths of the FLP folks on this forum are ever close to being right about anything,? :D wait I might be incorrect, something about a black person counting as only 3/5 of a person. That was like 200 years ago dude...who can remember back that far? :D
I use to be a people person until people ruined that for me.

Oh, so now you finally admit West is the one who brought up socialism, and that you cited him? Well that only took you three times to actually read what you cite here. Nice job.

Don't want me to explain to you and West what the word socialism means? Don't use the word. Problem solved.

As for the rest of your nonsense?

You can stomp your feet, and hold your breath, and scream "mommy, I don't LIKE what the word socialism means"

Won't change the fact that you're a socialist, and your entire economic existence was due to socialism. And that the Citadel is owned and operated by the Government of South Carolina.

Go ahead....tell the Forum for the 100th time that you think that government owned and operated schools aren't examples of socialism. I'm more than happy to laugh at you again and again and again.......
Go soak your head. West didn't say that we're socialist.
He's warning that we're moving in that direction.
 Right. Ten seconds ago, you were claiming he didn't mention socialism. Now you're moving the goalposts around

All that education, and you can't tell the class what the word socialism means.

Neat-o. But sure, I'm the problem here, not a petty child who wants to make up words to "win" a pointless argument, instead of discussing them like an adult.

There are milions of you telling your leaders that " you don't want socialism" in America. Yet not one of you can tell the class what that word means.

Cool. Keep it up, and tell me that I"m the problem here.

True story.

Spent a recent weekend in SF for a wedding. I used to go there on business a lot back in the day, but had not been there for a while.

It was awesome -- great restaurants, museums, waterfront, hills, views, neighborhoods, architecture etc. etc. etc. At the beautiful glittering black tie wedding reception, a friend and I were talking about how great a city SF was and were comparing notes on all the cool things we had done during our stay.

A MAGA doofus tool we both know comes up and cuts in to say "isn't it interesting how all these cities run by Democrats, who supposedly care about the poor, have been turned into complete shirt holes." After a few minutes the tool strolls away in his monogrammed velvet slippers.

Once the tool is out of ear shot, my buddy deadpans (in light of the earlier conversation) "funny, the city really didn't look like a shirt hole to me."

We both wet our tux pants laughing.

He was not too strong on sociology or politics or relative government powers. Texas has, if memory does not fail, four of the too 10 murder rates in the country.

Cities have only the powers the state constitution and legislatures give them unless tgere is an iver-riding federal interest. Solutions run afoul of right wing political interests.

It has just become a byword for antipathy to racial and gender awareness, and for worse things. Have to admit that the Right's ability to transform descriptives into dirty words is what they do best. They are pretty much policy free, but they stoke discord better than anyone.
Imagine that, ignoring the left's strong desire to categorize everything, celebrating fringe behavior as normal, and using descriptives to stoke discord.

Nothing like celebrating our differences instead of what we all have in common.

Funny, I thought what we all have in common is that we are different.

That which would make us stronger as a nation is recognizing those differences and celebrating them.

You are half right.

It's a good thing to recognize and accept that everyone is different. In every way. Period.

But the left's desire to go a step further and celebrate fringe behaviors and very personal choices that is offensive.

They know this. It's just their tactic.
