Job Title: Girls High School Lacrosse Assistant Coach

Location: East Lake High School, Pinellas County, Florida

Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal (Fall workouts start October 3rd, regular season starts January 22nd)
Overview:

East Lake High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Girl's High School Lacrosse Assistant Coach to support the head coach in the development and success of our lacrosse program. This role is a vital part of our team, as you will help guide and mentor our student-athletes, promote skill development, and foster a positive and competitive team environment.
Fall workouts start October 3, 2023, from 2:30 PM – 4 PM
Regular season practices start on January 22, 2024. Practices will start at 2:45 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Player Development:
• Assist in planning and executing effective practice sessions focused on skill development, game strategy, and teamwork.
• Provide individualized coaching and feedback to players to help them improve their skills and overall performance.
• Collaborate with the head coach to develop and implement training programs.
2. Game Preparation:
• Assist in game planning and strategy development, including reviewing opponents' strengths and weaknesses.
• Help with in-game decisions, substitutions, and adjustments as needed.
• Support the head coach in creating a competitive and winning team culture.
3. Team Support:
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior among players both on and off the field.
• Assist in fostering a strong sense of unity and camaraderie within the team.
• Be a role model and mentor for student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of academics and character development.
4. Communication:
• Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and the head coach.
• Attend team meetings, parent meetings, and other relevant events.
• Help keep parents informed about team activities, schedules, and expectations.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure the safety of players during practices and games by following proper warm-up procedures and injury prevention measures.
• Adhere to all rules and regulations of the sport's governing bodies and the school.
6. Recruitment and Outreach:
• Assist in recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes for the lacrosse program.
• Participate in outreach efforts to promote the sport and attract new players to the program.

Qualifications:
• Previous playing or coaching experience in lacrosse, preferably at the high school level.
• A strong understanding of lacrosse rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a coaching team.
• Dedication to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and first aid/CPR certification.
• Availability for weekday practices, weekend games, and occasional travel.
