Head Coach Wanted for NYC Specialized High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Program (Spring Season) - Brooklyn Technical HS

Are you a former women's lacrosse player with a passion for the game? Have you been flirting with the idea of becoming a coach? Are you in training as a teacher or social worker and have flexible afternoons? Then you may be just who the Brooklyn Tech Lacrosse team is looking for!

Brooklyn Technical High School is a high-academic, specialized high school located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, just minutes walk away from the Atlantic Barclays transportation hub which connects Brooklyn to Manhattan through all subway lines (and is a hub of the LIRR). In 2023, Brooklyn Tech won the city championship. The team is poised for continued success with a strong returning junior and sophomore class, and many freshman expressing interest. Come define what continued success looks like for the Tech Engineers.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience coaching (age appropriate)
  Knowledge of the rules of play for girls lacrosse
  Passionate about sport; Responsible; Good role model

LOCATION:

The position is part-time. Coaching and game day duties are fully in-person and require reporting in person to the physical location.

• Indoor training at: Brooklyn Technical H.S. 29 Fort Greene Place Brooklyn, NY 11217

• Outdoor training & home games at: Brooklyn Technical Lacrosse Field, 452 Clermont Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238 (No lights)

Practice has typically been held from 3:45-6:00pm. Coach has the discretion to call practice time, relative to lighting conditions and coordination with other seasonal teams using the field.

Games require early dismissal from school, and coach-shepherded travel on private charter bus (or by subway) to game and return to school.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

An eligible coach is either certified by the NYCDOE or already an employee of the DOE. Please inquire for a full understanding of how the requirements may apply to your situation (contact below).
