It was speculated immediately that he did so as he knew that he'd be changing his plea.
Which proved accurate.

The deal was probably already in place, first step resignation, second step appear before judge.

Anyone else notice that he plead guilty of insider trading yesterday? Rep. Collins (NY) No jail time tho....and he gets to keep his Congressional job, punishment is he can't vote. huh?

Why it's relevant that Collins was one of the first to endorse Trump, when it's a SEC, insider trading case? Why isn't the sentence " Collins is the first sitting member of Congress to be charged with insider trading" Instead, they introduce Trump. What the heck does he have to do with this?

Unless all the news stories are implying that they only went after, investigated Collins, because he endorsed Trump? Why else bring it up? A crime is a crime.....who cares who he endorsed.
