I thought Taft played at Choate yesterday. IL doesn't have a score.

Does anyone know how the game turned out? Or if it was cancelled?

Cobery’s been a four year starter with three of those getting the top cover guy. Boggles my mind he hasn’t been more recognized nationally. He is most complete player Loomis has had in the past decade and will have a quick impact at Harvard.
agreed. Was able to watch him in person and I was not aware of him (which really means nothing) until I was able to see him play. Really a complete player and also surprised he has not gotten more buzz.

Great game and good for Loomis to cement themselves the top tier of NEW1. They really did get out to fast starts against Deerfield and AOF. Too bad they wouldnt be able to play "wick again as I think it would be closer but it looks like Loomis will be the class of the Founders league this year.
I would like to see this as well - LC's faceoff man was out, and likely would've made the difference with keeping them in the game. They were tied 5-5 in the 3rd before Brunswick ran away with it. Maybe we'll get the chance in an eoy national tournament...

Unfortunately for NEWest fans that's not going to happen. The Founders League made its own bed.

Yes, unfortunately we'll never know how a fully healthy LC would've done vs 'wick. It certainly would've been a much closer game but the Bruins are tough so hard to say with certainty the final result would've been different.

I think if hobot was healthy against brunswick, they would have had a real shot at it. Brunswick was the much better team, but Loomis won only two faceoffs the entire game. Hobot was incredibly dominant against Deerfield at the x, forcing deerfield to use a pole against him while attempting their comeback in the fourth. With more even possession numbers against wick, who knows.

With that being said, the pelicans have had one team circled on the calendar. Taft. The matchup is a prime time, under the lights game in Windsor in a few weeks that will have fanfare and excitement. The rhinos have had Loomis’ number for over a decade, and despite giving them two scares last year, Loomis has come up short. They want to stake claim of the Founders and recent results are promising

For the other commenter, Milki still hasn’t played and if he is going to at all it wouldn’t be until the end of the year.

Other scores for Tuesday/ Wednesday

Brunswick 19- Hill 10
Taft 13- Choate 8
Avon 9- Westy 4
Hill 11- Salisbury 8
Berkshire 20- Williston 7
Hotchkiss 19- Kent 0

Thank you for your insight, Dawgie. Even though I'm a Rhino since way back, I am becoming a Pelican fan. They were pretty darned good last year, and this year Coach Ball seems to be getting the most out of a talented squad. One can't help but admire that accomplishment.

I'm posted up in Palm Springs these days, so I can't get to any NE games. I (and most of the rest of the posters on this thread, I'd wager) would love to watch any Loomis livestreams that bubble up. Can you share any links that an insider like you might find so we can see this emerging phenom in the making? I have the May 11th Taft game calendared but I am not confident that I can find a livestream as LC is hosting.

Speaking for the dozen or so regulars here, we'd really appreciate that!

Hobot would have absolutely helped but not sure it would have made a difference. Diaz-Matos has dominated everyone he has faced this year including the FOGO from L'ville, who interestingly is the Hopkins 2025 FOGO commit after Hobot in 2024. Did he play last year?

I think I've typed this about five times in this thread by now, but it's incredibly easy to find livestreams. Just google "(school name) livestream" you'll probably get what you're looking for. I did that for Loomis and this was literally the first search result. https://www.loomischaffee.org/athletics/livestream

I'll be making book on how long until you have to type it 6 times. But I got a quick highlight clip of the deerfield game at: https://fan.hudl.com/usa/ct/windsor/org ... &oi=434018

It's long, but it's safe

The Fightin' Phillips' of MA and NH go down to NEW1 by a combined score of 10-40. Shows the top teams in NEW1 are coming on strong.

No.. he came this year. Solid player, hadn’t been dominant like his predecessor

Week 6 Not So Accurate NEW D1-2-3 Rankings

Help: my formatting is terrible for the RANKINGS - anybody have any idea how to import a spreadheet into this to make it look better? Ive been unable to do a screen shot as well

D1 Observations:
- Quiet week as no major upsets and no major changes except Loomis beating Deerfield in a game I got wrong, so they switch spots
- I think TP is still better than their record shows so I have moved them up with swapped with Choate
- Brunswick with a dominating win against Hill Academy with Salisbury losing to Hill
- Taft fell from the Top Tier of NEW1 but solidifed their top Tier 2 standing by beating Choate
- H'Kiss not having a good year as some puzzling losses and scores that are not close
- Kent got their 1st win of the season albeit against a "D3" team

D2 Observations
- Although Albany Acad lost to Hill it was not a total mismatch and AA has been putting up prodigous scoring #s to remain at the top
- Pre-season top team Wilby continues as a middle of the pack team
- 'Wick2 used to be a very strong team but last few years have shown them to be only so-so (anyone know if changes that his contributed to this?)
- Same for Williston and Canterbury, both of which continue their free fall by losing to Pomfret and Gunnery badly, respectively
- For the bottom of D2-Boarding, Cheshire Acad beats Suffield
- King continues to maintain its pace as the top team to beat in D2-Day Schools
- HH beat soundly by GFA which moves them out of the contenders into pretenders

D3 Observations
- Harvey continues to remain at the top of D3 despite their loss to D2 GFA
- Hoosac undefeated on the season
- Marvelwood with a good week with 2 wins

Notable upcoming games
- Deerfield vs L'Ville (L'Ville by 4)
- Intriguing game with 'Wick vs Delbarton. I dont remember them playing in previous years so I wonder how this came about ('Wick by 9)
- 'Wick vs public school Ridgefield ('Wick by 10)
- TP better than people think. They play AOF (TP by 3)
- Choate with a chance to right their season vs Salisbury (S'Bury by 5)
- Albany Academies vs Berkshire. D2 Boarding vs D1 Boarding. Will be closer than one would think (Berkshire by 1)
- Canterbury vs Williston in the battle of schools falling from grace (Williston by 3)
- GCDS vs GFA in a battle for the 2-3 spots behind King (GCDS by 1)
- HH vs Williams in a D2 Day vs top D3 battle ((HH by 5)
- Forman and Darrow vs South Kent for the middle of D3 (Forman by 5, South Kent by 1)

As always, greatly appreciated justanotherperson. Nice to see Kent win a game. Their scores vs the West-1 teams this year speaks to the class of the various coaching staffs. I also do not remember Wick playing Delbarton. Though still a strong program, Delby the past few years has been down from what they were for a good 10-15 year run where they were right there with the top of the MIAA, St. A, Chaminade. As they has fallen back a bit, their schedule has been a little less ambitious. I also expect Wick to win that one reasonably comfortably.

HOTCHKISS 8-6 over Salisbury. Anyone who has actually watched Hotchkiss this season sees the leaps and bounds the team has taken. Just need more bodies in the program. Feels like a new culture has arrived,

Hotchkiss lost to Loomis by 9 goals. They lost to Brunswick by 9. Taft (probably by mistake) got to a 12 goal margin and I expect that they were mortified. NEWest One is usually pretty good about not invoking the mercy rule.

But they beat a top 4 NEWest1 team by 2? Really?

I’m not sure, or certain, or commenting based on facts. But I’ve seen Hotchkiss play and I’ve seen Salisbury play (both via internet) . This is my supposition:

I suspect that Salisbury fielded an underclass and mostly JV team against Hotchkiss and (as I said before) Hotchkiss has one or two Playa’s, so against a JV squad, they’ll stand out. Props to the Crimson Knights for giving their reserves an opportunity to play a competitive game with Varsity rules and refs and staff.

Salisbury did largely the right thing, as their JV squad held up pretty well against the Hotchkiss varsity – putting up 6 goals and only giving up 8.

Is there any evidence to that or is that all suspicion? Was anyone there or watch the livestream?
