6-1! 6 goals on 8 shots, that’s not going to cut it no matter who you are playing.

Goalie change for Yale, almost had to do that. Not all on keeper by any means but can’t let in 10 in a half to a team with Dartmouth’s offensive fire power. Now 10-7 with goal from Stuzin. If Yale can get it to 2 by half they would have to be very happy to take it.

Wow, Brown ahead of Princeton and Dartmouth ahead of Yale near the half. Could those leads hold?

10-9 with Yale hitting 2 quick ones to start 3rd. If they get a lead this could slip away. However Green now with man up.

13-10 Yale at end of 3. Very little possession for Dartmouth in the quarter, Conrad making the saves when they did. Big Green D looks gassed, guys turning the corner on GLE that they couldn’t earlier in the game. Suspect this one is going to open up a bit

17-10, 12 straight goals, wheels have fallen off and Morell looking dejected and everything going in for the Bulldogs. Great effort for Dartmouth early, still with a ways to go to build the depth to compete against a team

Princeton fiiiiinally reels them in at 12-12, but Bruno pops one last one and springs the upset 13-12. Brown wildly unpredictable this year but when they are on top of their game they have shown they can play with just about anyone.

If Princeton wins out and Cornell splits with Harvard and Dartmouth, looks to me like Cornell, Penn, Princeton, and Yale all finish 4-2, Is that right? Now tell me again about the tiebreakers. I only have hotel reservations in Ithaca so far.

Edit: In this case, Cornell and Princeton would be 2-1 against the others, Cornell having beaten Princeton, and Yale having beaten Penn. If I understand the previous posts correctly then the seedings would be:

1. Cornell
2. Princeton
3. Yale
4. Penn

I think for hotel purposes I mainly need Princeton to beat Penn and Cornell to win out.

Exciting final 2 weeks of Ivy play as only Yale and Penn have secured ILT slots. Cornell close to being in with a win over Dartmouth or Harvard. Princeton in jeopardy of not making ILT with their 2-2 record and games vs, Penn and Yale remaining. Brown at 1-3 could win out (Dartmouth and Harvard) and sit at 3-3. Princeton could win out as well but if they lose one and Brown does win out they have the H2H tie breaker vs. Princeton and will be in.

According to the Cornell thread, if Yale/Penn/Cornell all win out and finish tied @ 5-1, Cornell takes the tiebreaker based on goal differential against the other two teams.

So if Penn beats Princeton, Cornell still hosts if they win out and Yale beats Princeton, too.

faircornell, you're a saint for doing this. One correction, Matt Brandau had 11 points (3G, 8A) against Boston University, giving him 7 goals/13 assists for 20 points for the week. (Correction made in the quoted post above.)

Yes, that checks out. There's an intervening tiebreaker (who has a win vs. the highest seeded Ivy team outside of the group that's tied in the standings) but in this scenario Yale/Penn/Cornell would all have wins over the other 4 Ivy teams not in the tie so it would go to goal differential. Nerd territory here but after Cornell gets the #1 seed with goal differential the tie-breakers re-set and Yale would get the #2 seed and Penn the #3 seed based Yale's head-to-head win over Penn (and of course between 2 teams head-to-head and "goal differential" against each other are the same).

#1 Seed Scenarios if more than one team finishes 5-1:
  • Cornell and Yale at 5-1 (Cornell #1 seed);
  • Cornell and Penn at 5-1 (Penn #1 seed);
  • Penn and Yale at 5-1 (Yale #1 seed)
