On a separate note I see St Anthony’s beat Staples, which if I’m not mistaken is a CT public….so they will play publics from other states, just not on LI?
Yup. I keep telling myself that the only reason they don't play us is because we beat them last time we played...in 2001.

its bad for business. They gain little beating a public HS in LI compared to the headache of losing to one.

It might be just as likely that LI publics don't have any interest in playing a team that routinely poaches kids from public schools.

True, but they also have a lot to gain.

Seems that way. Strange, isn't it? Manhasset in 2019 was the last LI Public they played. Seems like they played Yorktown in 2019 and Briarcliff in 2022.

I'm sure our kids would love a shot at them. They have taken so many of our players over the years. I don't think we'd have much of a shot though.

Another strong defensive performance from The Indians.

Pequa beat Wantagh looks like 9-8, first A win against a non-A power league team!

The big one is coming Saturday! Btw are we still the Indians? I thought the school had to get rid of the nickname

But it’s ok to risk losing to a CT public?

Not as obvious of a hit when trying to get LI players to leave their districts.

They are the Indians through the end if this school year. From what I've heard. the students are voting to go with no nickname moving forward. Will simply be Manhasset, or "Set"
