The debate on the value of transfers is over. Danowski/Tillman/Tambroni/Milliman/Tiffany/Gait etc have embraced it and have had success as a result.
This is not OSU or Jacksonville level usage of the portal. Eccleston/Tygh were big contributors in a great win over a solid Penn team. I don’t think that is debatable either.

I agree, and wish Hobart would try to grab a couple guys each year--especially now that they have scholarships. SU's whole team dynamic has changed with Mark in the goal and Kohn at the X...not to mention Stephens, English, the UNC defensemen, etc..

I agree that Hobart should look at players in the portal. Though it will be a lot quieter after this season. I'd guess 70% of the transfers were guys using their extra year. Unless your a medical redshirt, or a player who just isn't happy where they started, there will be a lot fewer quality players to choose from. If I'm a HC looking at a player in the portal, I'd want at least 2 years of remaining eligibility. Of course if you have a very specific need for the upcoming season, it might make sense for a 1 year roster spot. Caveat Emptor.

2 statement wins from the A-10, the UPenn win and now the UNC win,

that was one of the best end-of-game set plays I've seen in a while - had to be perfect and they were.

High Point won out of a timeout on a drawn up play?

Nothing to lose,
everything to gain,

perfect play as it turned out - one of the best I've seen this year.

I wonder if any NLL team has drafted that guy - good build and stick for box.

I just asked this on the St. Bonaventure thread. But I have a friend who is traveling from Baltimore up to that school this weekend for the Bonnies' game vs. Richmond. For those of you who are familiar, at least to some extent, with that drive, are there any stops, sites, and restaurants on the way that you recommend?

Any recommendations would be great! Thanks so much!!

How is your friend driving? If they're taking Route 17, the Roscoe Diner in Roscoe NY is a classic place to stop, eat, & refuel on the way from NYC to Central NY State.

St Joe’s not having much of a problem with High Point.

Jesse Jason, a real solid find for St Joe’s.

I’ve got St Joe’s above Richmond right now.

The no contest effort against High Point convinced me.

Did St Joe’s really beat PC while making 3 saves all game?

A terrible outlier performance vs PC, and they still won. St Joe’s is formidable

Is there a team that has improved more than the St Joe Hawks ?

I mean, they were Zero and Twelve a little more than a decade ago.

If they can make it through the A-10, definite NCAA tournament upset potential.

They're beating UPenn, they're beating UMass, they're beating Towson, they're beating Penn State - where they couldn't compete at all with these teams not all that long ago.

Coach Wray said in an interview a year or 2 ago that things started to turn around when they got the full 12.6 scholarships. It sure helps level the playing field. Hobart had a whopping 3 for this season..........

12.6 and good merit money that stacks on that is very helpful. Recruiting and developing an AA FOGO in Zach Cole and 3 Attackman that will all break the existing all time SJU goal record was huge. Need to sustain that recruiting and developing piece. Selectively filling holes in the roster with quality transfers has helped a ton as well
