Re: Duke Fans - Sore Losers?

Zawada looks like the best of the recent transfer to Duke. He fit seamlessly with this O. Not saying he’s better than Sowers (he’s not) but him on the right and O’niell and Dyson on left was scary.

Did Boyer play yesterday?

Duke’s freshman goalie Jameison is pretty impressive.

St. Joe’s not showing any deference to Duke early on.

Duke certainly has the advantage in skill, speed, and athleticism. However, St. Joe’s is just as physical as Duke, with some pretty hard hits on the Blue Devils. That physicality is keeping St. Joe’s in the game.

Who picked the font size for Duke’s jersey numbers? A play-by-play announcer? They’re enormous and look ridiculous.

The Tuesday match with Penn looks to be the usual Philly throw down. Wonder if it's something in the water? Flyers? Eggles home game fans? Frank Rizzo's finest? Sure seems to quite the misnomer, City of Brotherly Love...

Brennan O'Neill is now in the top 15 all-time in goals scored.

182 goals in 62 games played.

Not exactly Stan Cockerton, but that's a lot of goals for just over 60 games - no Covid year.

QK is absolutely right … O’Neill needs to demand the ball more and Duke needs to get him more involved.

Bizarre how little O’Neill was involved in the first half.

O’ Neil will finish his career under 5.0 per game , and I don’t see him making anyone better around him.

They are not helping him much either. Why doesn’t Duke set up more picks/two man games for him?

Best player on the field by far is Pat Kavanaugh . He is dominating cd Brower, beating him off dodges from up top , four goals and could easily have seven , Kavanaugh is a leader and his impact is even greater than his stats by always playing with great energy that creates offense for others with his passing , rides and more .

Oneill while a talented man beast is too often passive and not impacting a game as much as he can.

Agree. He is a scorer. That is why he had, so much success on the World team. He isn’t a guy that is comfortable or successful, when asked to run an offense. He was 2-12 today with 0 assists. It’s not like he wasn’t getting shots

i think the thing people like about o'neill that's generated conferred generational status-ish is he can score goals that no one else can. he may be the only guy since lyle that's the case.

and while they wore this line thin on the broadcast in lieu of calling the game, mvp or even a top player on our world team, while in college, is pretty good.

People like to have simple memes in sports. ONeill wasn’t the best player on the World team. He is one of the best scorers to come to college lacrosse in a long time. Give him the 5th or 6th best cover guy, he is going to do very well. My point is he amazing but in his role, but hasn’t grown into a player that you hand the keys to the offense and just let him go

just commenting tangentially on him.
more to your point, anyone could easily make a debate out of the offense, and offensive travails, that duke has had. given everything.

Oneill scoring goes hand in hand with his accuracy which is very inconsistent . SMH watching him
