4-0 Boston. Good call seeing that one coming a mile away!

Jaro Halak? Really? Matches his shutout total from last year already. He’ll be the next ex-Islander to win a cup!

Nice to see Vegas lose! Tired of their WWE like home ice fanfare!

Agree DD, that carnival/circus crap is too much. bang . As a fan if you need some huckster screaming into a mike and Wayne Newton cranking a siren to get you going then you’re in the wrong place.

In contrast to the NHL WWE hype, my most tranquil zen time is between periods of Navy's D1 men's ACHA club hockey team games.
(Navy also fields men's D2 & women's D1 club teams).

There's something very soothing about watching the zamboni go round & round, as an eclectic collection of tunes boom out of the loud speakers & reverberate inside a big metal hockey barn. It's fun watching the Mids in the stands & lining the rink, as they relax, socialize, joke around (& hit on each other, ...a pleasant diversion my vintage did not have). It's great seeing the members (or alums ?) of Navy's women's hockey team in the stands, in their game jerseys.

A relaxing time to appreciate the effort & energy just observed on the ice & ponder what the future holds for all those young patriots whose company I am privileged to share. Their parents, families, teachers, coaches & home towns can be proud.

I hadn't been aware that the NHL is going to have further expansion:

Great first day in net for Robin Lehner as an Islander. Hopefully he can continue his comeback in net and more importantly his comeback in life. Islanders could use a goalie. Hopes it turns out to be Lehner.

This is Lehner’s story. He writes about his addictions and what has haunted him. Really worth reading.

The last few playoff seasons Chara has looked older and slower but the Bs are doing a better job of managing his minutes. However, the fact of the matter is, he's 41, but if he keeps getting the job done he'll continue to play.

Drafted by the Islanders, traded to the Sens, IMO he is one of the greatest FA signings in the history of the NHL. Over his career in Boston, he's done it all, costing a pretty penny, but worth every cent.

BOSTON years
MAR 28 2018 Signed a 1 year $5 million contract extension with Boston (BOS)

OCT 10 2010 Signed a 7 year $45.5 million extension with Boston (BOS)

JUL 2 2006 Signed a 5 year $37.5 million contract with Boston (BOS)

The 41-year-old defenseman has led the Bruins to a postseason berth in eight of his 11 seasons with the team, including a Stanley Cup Championship in 2010-11. He ranks seventh in franchise history in games played (888), and third in points by a defenseman (452) behind Hall of Famers Ray Bourque (1,506) and Bobby Orr (888).
