Navy 2024
Re: Navy 2024
If BU beats Colgate & Lehigh beats Lafayette, that would leave the Army - Loyola winner the #1 seed & Lehigh the #2 seed.

Hoping it is Loyola. I love Ridley!
Re: Navy 2024
I hesitate to post this because it's complex & I could easily get it wrong, but here's my best guess :4 teams at 5-2 / 2 teams at 4-3
1. Colgate : 5-2 (W - Army, Loyola, Laf, Buck, HC L - Lehigh, Navy -- still to play BU)
2. Lehigh : 5-2 (W - Colgate, BU, Navy, Buck, HC / L - Army, Loyola -- still to play Lafayette)
2. Army : 5-2 (W - Lehigh, Navy, Laf, Buck, HC / L - Colgate, BU -- still to play Loyola)
4. Loyola ; 5-2 ( W - Lehigh, Navy, Laf, Buck, HC / L - Colgate, BU -- still to play Army)
5. Navy 4-3 (W - BU, Colgate , Laf, HC / L - Army, Loyola, Lehigh -- still to play Bucknell)
6. BU : 4-3 (W - Army, Loyola, Buck, HC / L- Navy, Lehigh, Laf -- still to play Colgate)
The 2 most likely scenarios :
IF Navy beats Bucknell & Lehigh beats Lafayette. then :
(1) If BU beats Colgate -- Army-Loyola winner = #1 seed / Lehigh #2 seed, both at 6-2
4 way tie at 5-3 for seeds #3 - #6 between Navy, Colgate, BU, & Army-Loyola loser.
To break that 4 way tie, (I think) Navy would emerge as #3 seed, Colgate as #4, BU as #5 & Army-Loyola loser as #6.
(2) If Colgate beats BU -- three way tiebreaker (too complicated for me) at 6-2 between Lehigh, Colgate & Army-Loyola winner for #1 - #3.
Leaving Army-Loyola loser at 5-3 as #4 seed & 5-3 Navy as #5 seed. BU drops to #6 seed at 4-4.
Jobu do big magic for BU, Lehigh & Navy
Re: Navy 2024
Wouldn’t that be something if we got Army at Navy in the quarters.

Re: Navy 2024
On to Bucknell on Friday evening. Folks, this may not be the case. And, even if an announcement hasn't been made, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bison players have a feeling that this could be popular coach Frank Fedorjaka's last game as the head man. If that is the case, I think they will go all-out for him. I would hope Navy might have this feeling, too.
Re: Navy 2024
Bucknell has a history of stability at the HC level in MLax. They're a young team. I hope they give Frank at least another year to show improvement.

Re: Navy 2024
What should the Mids hope for in the upcoming PL games this weekend (Other than beating Bucknell) ?

Smelling a tough one with Bucknell. Something like a 13-11, 13-10 Navy win.

The last Friday night of the PL is always mayhem.

They say it's tough to beat the same team twice in the same year.
Navy could get the chance to avenge losses to Loyola, Lehigh & Army.

Terrible call Bucknell should have in regulation. Goal was good. Moving on to Loyola.

Watch the replay. He clearly stepped on the line. The official who called it had an unobstructed view.Turnandrake wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2024 11:19 pm Terrible call Bucknell should have in regulation. Goal was good. Moving on to Loyola.
Re: Navy 2024
Upon further review -- Navy's Team D came up big on Bucknell's final possession during regulation.
Watch starting @ 2:09 remaining. With the game on the line, they didn't sit back & let Bucknell run a play, they attacked. Key on #41, he was remarkable.

Good OT win. Credit to Bucknell for fighting back from several deficits but Navy got it done in the end. New season once the tournament begins. With a strong FOGO and a goalie that’s capable of getting very hot, as well as knowing they beat a top 5 team in JHU and have it in them to play with the best, here’s hoping the Mids can make a run.

Like the NC State MBB fans who said of the ACC tournament: "This is our chance to beat Duke, Virginia, and UNC in three consecutive days, then make a Final Four run."

@ 1:17 #41 almost got smoked by #17 sitting inside, who also got a shot off before getting hit....those plays build memory in the ole' rolodex to not forget about inside players and ball watching.
Amplo had a point, BU carried 7 men over on that final play in regulation...but come one man, do you really need to run on to the opposite of the field to get your point across
In final play of OT: Interesting decision by BU to put a SS on #28. And to add insult to injury, Navy's final play, was darned near the same offense BU runs....high wing dodge across the topside, with your adjacent outlet far away, making it a long slide for BU. Cottle adds a wrinkle, with a backside transfer of #2 and #43, keeping BU defense honest and making that late slide to 28 that much more critical; game over.
I will have to complain a bit, unless there is something going on I may have missed, but I did not see #27 in the game for Senior night. The lefty attackman is a good solid player.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.
