Sovero turned it up in second half. Tigers have a great coach in Nadelen. New shot clock might effect Towson more than some others

Tigers love to control the ball, on both sides of the field. Their O is based on patience and working for the highest quality scoring opportunity, which may not work the same way with a shot clock. Defense has a large hole with the departure of Coach Cocchi - his replacement can't be announced soon enough.

Heard a red-shirt senior opted to graduate rather than come back for a final season.....plenty of open spots for those who want to walk the Tiger walk.

Mo Sillah makes the final cut of ILs top 100 incoming freshmen.

As always, the qualifier of, for what that list is worth.

OTOH, I’m hardly surprised.
Sillah has the makings of an AA defensemen, LSM.
Especially in Nadelen’s system.

That’s a dammm good endorsement coming from Nadelan.
Steve Grossi was an all american type defenseman, though he never made any of those teams. Grossi was on that Drexel team that upset number one UVA to open that season. You can see his work with strong defensive teams, Richmond and Saint Joe’s. Grossi also has a good face-off coaching background.

And a good write up on Steve Grossi as new coach.

A bit surprised, no shocked we haven't added a transfer or two on offense. I'm assuming that will happen before practice starts again in January. The two Calvert Hall freshmen Illardo and Swain appear to be the closest to be able to help us on offense. I know according to IL, A Logan Zimnoch from St. Paul's and Ryan Leonard from Churchill were the two highest-rated players. If they are physically ready to play, one or both may have to move to midfield. To me, Wies has to take the next step forward as the qb on attack and we have to figure out where Sunday plays. Sunday is 6-5 and Illardo is 6-4. Wonder if we just go huge on attack with guys like Sovero, Maloof, and Monahan at first midfield, though not sure what Monahan is. He struggled shooting last season but was impressed with his feeding ability.

It’s a large group of offensive players who have filled out with muscle. Star face-off specialist Alex Woodall has undergone the biggest transformation, trimming down 25 pounds; he was noticeably quicker.
“These guys took the summer and attacked it. We had some guys working two to three jobs, coaching, doing a lot of things, but they found time. Found time to get in the weight room. Found time to get the stick in their hands. A guy like Woodall, he made a transformational change for himself personally. He’s as hungry as anybody to be much better than where he was last year and to have his skillset help our team,” said Nadelen.
Great to hear!!
“It’s been burning like wildfire on this team. The excitement, the energy, the purpose-driven behavior of these guys.”
A coach needs to inspire motivation, which Coach clearly did
One point to watch will be the health of Zach Goodrich, a player who seems tailor-made for the new rules. He is out in the fall with an injury, but Nadelen anticipates him back for the spring. He looked like another coach out there working with the defense.
Not good
Defensively, a strong core returns, with senior Chad Patterson (6-3, 200 pounds), junior Gray Bodden (6-2, 215), junior Joe Patti (6-1, 195) bringing experience. Sophomore Koby Smith was fantastic and can play either close or LSM. He’s a tremendous athlete, pushing transition with his feet but also smart passes. Freshman defenseman Garrett Zungailia was towering at 6-6, 245 and had some takeaways.

Love the fact that they are playing with more pace and not just trying to possess the ball. Well, you can't really milk the clock anymore. Might as well use the speed we have in Goodrich (assuming he's healthy), Wilkerson, Koby Smith, Beacham, etc. Really want to see what the freshmen look like.
