Yeah he was a surprise big W for me, his smaller size made me think he would just be a shooter/finisher for Yale but he actually does it all and if anything 1on1 uses the man to get a shot off. I think he is the kind of player that plays better with better players. His basics are also flawless, rarely does he drop a pass in traffic and has a quick release before anyone can close him down, hence why he will suit the Olympic style game more than your standard lacrosse worlds. The more lacrosse IQ on the field the higher his statsMatnum PI wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 12:30 pm I saw Brandau play as a senior at Boys Latin. My son will start popping back in. He’s focused on his first practice next Sat for his (our he’s got a shaky HC named dad) 4th/5th grade league at the moment. We’ve been watching various YouTube college lacrosse biggest hits clips lately. He likes playing D…

No one in this league would ever take 'shots'. Less than a month!
Re: 2023 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Congratulations on exceeding last year's draft post count! We still trail the JHU thread by a few...
Re: 2023 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
2/11 is an NCAA Game that Counts and every NCAA team (I believe) has at least one game that does not count so coaches can tabulate who is playing what position, who is starting, etc. Soon...

Good, that helps. Looking forward to scrimmages starting this weekend, although we don't always see great information coming out of them. Lots of draft picks will have a chance to show.

Agreed. The websites tell us nothing, there are rarely box scores but... People's posts within the Forum help a lot...

Re: 2023 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
I have been looking at my draft trying to project fantasy points. Does anyone do this? Any predictions you're willing to share?
Re: 2023 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
I did something like that last year. Projecting with some degree of accuracy how many points a player will get in a whole NCAA season seems doable, but to predict how many fantasy points they'll get in the selected games is harder. Also, each week we are a bit at the mercy of our Defense's match up and the D match up for our opponent, so using the points we're projecting for our starters to predict wins becomes harder.
Re: 2023 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Agree defenses will swing results significantly and not something I'm trying to look at or look at weekly matchups and fantasy opponents to project W-L.ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:23 pmI did something like that last year. An example, just looking at my draft. I selected 7 field players and I think 6 will contribute this season. I think 5 players will score 10+ fantasy points and 1 of those players will exceed 20. If this comes to fruition, it would be a very successful draft IMO.
We all draft hoping for starters with fantasy relevant production which I believe starts at 10+ fantasy points. It doesn't always work out. 2-3 hits a year usually makes for a competitive roster. We needed more after graduating 136 points! Who else feels confident they drafted 2-3 day 1 contributors?

But more seriously, I’ll be pleased if Spanos sees plenty game time from last year, I drafted him in mind to be starting by junior year and hoped he would redshirt freshman as would have been a waste for my fantasy team as he would not have started in my fantasy last year…so any contributions this year is a plus.PALax11 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 1:58 pmAgree defenses will swing results significantly and not something I'm trying to look at or look at weekly matchups and fantasy opponents to project W-L.ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:23 pmI did something like that last year. Outside of my senior drafts I think Carson Kuhl may see more time and Kurdyla could see the field a lot too, but I don’t need any non seniors from my draft this year.
Re: 2023 Fantasy Lacrosse Draft
Defensive match ups definitely make a difference. However, the hardest part is dealing with injuries. Sometimes, the injury is well known. However, all too often coaches are quiet and a player is not on the field. Injuries also give other players more playing time. Depth on our lineups seems to be the best way to adapt week to week.Uklax wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 4:56 pmBut more seriously, I’ll be pleased if Spanos sees plenty game time from last year, I drafted him in mind to be starting by junior year and hoped he would redshirt freshman as would have been a waste for my fantasy team as he would not have started in my fantasy last year…so any contributions this year is a plus.PALax11 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 1:58 pmAgree defenses will swing results significantly and not something I'm trying to look at or look at weekly matchups and fantasy opponents to project W-L.ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 12:23 pmI did something like that last year.
