So true. I remember reading the backstory on Dustin Hoffman‘s “HEY! I’M WAWKIN HEAH! I’M WAWKIN HEAH!” from Midnight Cowboy. A cab driver went through some kind of barricade that was set up and legitimately almost hit Hoffman. Incredible that he just kept going with it and stayed in character.

In the movie Stakeout, while on stakeout, Estevez and Dreyfuss play a game to amuse themselves by asking each other questions. On one turn, Estevez quotes a line from a movie to see if Dreyfuss can guess the movie it's from. He chooses a line that Dreyfuss uttered in Jaws:

- "Okay, okay, what movie-- 'Well, this was not a boating accident!'"

- Dreyfuss responds indifferently, "I dunno."

I was a kid when I first saw this (born in 78) and thought “I’m going to rip off your head and s**t down your throat” was one of the most profound statements I ever heard...

The story Gordy tells about the fat kid and the pie eating contest is excellent.

Showed it to my kids last year. My son is horrified but loves the leech scene. Daughter was six at the time and liked it but superficial laugh type thing.
