Yes that’s all good but you’ve lectured or lobbed intended (not really landed but that’s because it came across as dumb to me) insults at me alleging me of being these things. One afternoon in particular I had a gentleman enraged at me because I was late delivering his new cooler to his store. He actually for some god foresaken reason grabbed a hammer and threatened me with. That wasn't me acting like a vendor, that was me doing my job. I could have easily grabbed the hammer and hit him over the head with it. I simply said I'm outta here and put the cooler back on the truck and left. To be honest with you I don't understand your reply to me one little bit. I just took a swing at it for the hell of it.
FTR my entire career as a service technician was working with other people to find a solution to their problem. If they were angry when I walked through the door they were always happy when I left. It was a real simple thing. It usually involved fixing what was broken.

The first part is not germane I agree that’s not treatment for any human being. But it’s a metaphor. A little effort, concession, maybe just once ask a legitimate question that isn’t some dumb gaslighting attempt to accomplish some agenda you have, try to understand what the counterparty is trying to solve for and seeing if you can get on that path or nicely move them to your path being the best solution to the issue. That’s acting like a partner. A vendor is like “what do I need to do to close this and get revenues/sales from this person”. It’s acting as they think is necessary to extract a rent but then you are seen as such interested as such.

You're covering for him just because you like how he takes a sh!t on OS every chance he gets.

I'm not covering for doodly. If you paid any attention at all, you'd find that Kismet is returning fire with OS. And you'd also find that they have cordial exchanges quite frequently....they match tone.

You're whining because you made a smug comment, and I gave you a smug response.

As for myself I receive flak all of the time. Sometimes it is well deserved, other times not so much. My problem is I tend to take it personally at times. One of my character defects is I try to counter act criticism by going one better. A moderator on our other forum always use to advise me to think about what I'm saying before I click. send. That advise was usually followed by a little yellow flag. I'm trying to do better but you really can't teach an old dog new tricks. My problem is sometimes I enjoy agitating people. My sister would verify that in a heartbeat.

Which of course means everything you say about class, crassness etc is worthless. It’s coming from a source of bull**it and means nothing. I said this a long time ago and it’s why you get treated like you do. Just not taken seriously. And you care more than you do or will claim clearly or else you wouldn’t take it personally. That’s just science brother.

If you think I'm unaware of some of my defects of character you would be mistaken. Growing up in my neighborhood crass, boorish and insulting behavior was how we interacted with each other. I'm not defending it but I can't deny where it originated from. I have 45 years of interacting with customers face to face in my line of work. I've been cussed out and yelled at on more occasions than I care to remember for things that were not my fault. If I could explain how my mindset works I would. Often times you learn what you live, disagreements among my friends when I was a teenager always involved fists flying, expletives flying then laughing about it 10 minutes later and trying to go out and get some beer. I'll always be far from the person I wish I was. I've learned to live with it.

When you act like a vendor you get treated like a vendor. Maybe try acting like a partner working with someone to find a solution once and see how that goes for you. Probably deserve better but frozen in vendor mode by inertia and time.

One afternoon in particular I had a gentleman enraged at me because I was late delivering his new cooler to his store. He actually for some god foresaken reason grabbed a hammer and threatened me with. That wasn't me acting like a vendor, that was me doing my job. I could have easily grabbed the hammer and hit him over the head with it. I simply said I'm outta here and put the cooler back on the truck and left. To be honest with you I don't understand your reply to me one little bit. I just took a swing at it for the hell of it.
FTR my entire career as a service technician was working with other people to find a solution to their problem. If they were angry when I walked through the door they were always happy when I left. It was a real simple thing. It usually involved fixing what was broken.

A little effort, concession, maybe just once ask a legitimate question that isn’t some dumb gaslighting attempt to accomplish some agenda you have, try to understand what the counterparty is trying to solve for and seeing if you can get on that path or nicely move them to your path being the best solution to the issue. That’s acting like a partner. A vendor is like “what do I need to do to close this and get revenues/sales from this person”. It’s acting as they think is necessary to extract a rent but then you are seen as such interested as such.
