One of the disappointments for the Blue Jays in 2021 had to be the three 1 goal losses to Maryland. A team they have never beaten and have now lost to 21 straight times.

Here, in the 2nd contest, Aurora Cordingley scores the goal that gave the Jays the lead with 7:27 left in the 2nd. Maryland tied the score a few minutes later and then potted the game winner with 39 seconds left. In any event--this is easily the most animated I've ever seen Cordingley after a goal.

This particular game was also significant for something else in the 2nd half. Notice anything missing usually present?

Brave young woman. I wonder how she is enjoying her time there. It's almost a year since the original post. She got very little playing time at Hop beforehand. It will be interesting to see if she gets on the field more in '22 after her time abroad.

Anyone else worried about ONW? He usually doesn't go 30 mins between posts and it's been 3 days.

Haha—very funny

Busy in other places though...

...plus I doubt you’d get many takers on “worried” 😉

Looks like coach is still a kid at heart. Nice to see. I hope she has a great last season.

Coach Tucker's last chance to beat Maryland. She'll have one crack at the Terps during the regular season, and maybe another if both teams make the Big 10 conference tournament. And maybe another still if they both make the NCAA's. The record of futility vs the Terps now stands at 0-22 all time. That would be one amazing going away present for coach, and a very special moment for the Blue Jays program.

Only two away non-conference games. It’s going to be a season long going away party in Baltimore, and deservedly so!

Love the love for DGA. Never met her, but have gotten to know her daughter, Shannon. Every Loyola WLAX player learns about DGA and her legacy at the school. A great Lax HOFamer being recognized by a soon to be HOFamer herself. Good find!

Thank you!

JT is one of my favorite coaches ever and I always made sure I went to her presentations at conferences. Bonus, one of my favorite players ended up playing for her, amazing. I had the privilege of attending a Loyola game at the end of DGA's tenure. I learned so much being there in person and was inspired by her story. There are some really amazing women and history in this little world of Women's Lacrosse.

Janine Tucker and Tara Singleton both played at Loyola and Janine was an assistant coach there for several years, which probably explains why there's such a high level of respect for DGA.

All smiles for the Blue Jays. Should be an interesting season. How will the Jays perform for outgoing coach Janine Tucker? Will they win more than their average or will they have a season to remember by beating certain teams they wouldn't normally beat, like Maryland for instance.

What do Cornell, High Point, JMU and Navy have in common with Maryland when it comes to JHU?

Looking serious. Ms. Paris Colgain. One of the highly touted young guns for Hop this year.

If I had one wish for coach Tucker's final season, it would be to finally beat the Terps. That would be a great going away present. And a great opportunity to dust off and amend Vitas Gerulaitis's old line: "Nobody beats the Blue Jays 23 times in a row!" 😂
