Re: Coach Carousel 2020
I don't know but I feel it has to be more then that, I know schools are cracking down and trying to be careful with Covid but if that was the case there would be a lot of coaches out of a job. Warning maybe but fired that quick would be crazy and there are programs all over the country having cases. I mean what have the students been back 3-4 days. Coaches haven't even done anything with them
Re: Coach Carousel 2020
I was told by a friend who has a son on the roster that this was very unexpected, and when the Coach reached out to the guys he didn't have much to say. Hopefully more comes out about the current situation. If not, this could cast a shadow on the program to find a replacement HC, on top of everything else that is going on. I don't believe their current assistant is ready to take an interim role, or take over. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an entirely new staff that is brought in at some point though
Re: Coach Carousel 2020
I’ve heard they completed on campus interviews last week. An offer (and hire) should be made soon

I’m hearing rumors (pretty solid ones) about a coaching change at Maryville. Anyone else hearing this?
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Learn to recognize the difference.
Re: Coach Carousel 2020
Not rumors, it’s true Mitch Schafer stepped down. I haven’t heard if they are going to do a search or if they will elevate their assistant. Maybe someone else knows more about that?WhiteCarrera wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 11:01 am I’m hearing rumors (pretty solid ones) about a coaching change at Maryville. Anyone else hearing this?
Re: Coach Carousel 2020
IMO I think Chris BURKE would be a great choice to promote to HC.StuckinD2 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 22, 2020 1:53 pmNot rumors, it’s true Mitch Schafer stepped down. Okay - thanks. Sounds like his replacement is already a done deal.

Saw tweet where Carroll Kennedy is out at Lincoln Memorial. Anyone know anything about this? seems like a weird time to fire your coach. Kids just arrived on campus.

From earlier in this feed. Would love to hear from someone who has a kid or knows a kid that attends -

I’m believe that the AD was supposed to have a meeting with the Team Last night to discuss the current situation.jakester wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 9:34 amAccording to @DIILacrose on Twitter, Carroll Kennedy was fired for unknown reasons. Apparently players were left in the dark as they were not informed by the AD or school on the decision. Does anyone have more insight on the validity of this information?StuckinD2 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2020 6:22 pm I heard rumors that this might have happened this morning. Lincoln Memorial has let go Carroll Kennedy. Carroll was going into his third year, not really sure what transpired to cause this. But he was removed from the roster and the job has been posted.

I see Coach Jay Goldsmith landed softly somewhere. He is the new AC at NGU - https://nguathletics.com/news/2020/8/21 ... coach.aspx
Also, according to their 2021 roaster, it appears that former YHC Goalie Bryce Parrish went over as well.

Re: Coach Carousel 2020
I saw that as well, looks like a good spot for him to land. NGU has been a pretty competitive team in the Conference Carolina's, hopefully he can help add to their teams offense.jakester wrote: ↑Thu Aug 27, 2020 7:31 pm I see Coach Jay Goldsmith landed softly somewhere. Well anyone with a crystal ball focused on the LMU future ? Not sure whether it would be a good job or not. Is there any insight in the school, AD, or program ?

I’ve heard they have D1 aspirations for the program eventually. Other then that nothing on the current situation.
Re: Coach Carousel 2020
LMU seems to be a perpetual aspirant to the D1 level, but in order to make the transition, you actually have to receive an invitation. Without a football program, the chances don't look good as the conferences that want to expand expect a FB team...River Donkey wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 7:29 pmI’ve heard they have D1 aspirations for the program eventually. Re: Coach Carousel 2020
When you walk on LMU's campus, nothing at all makes you think D1. In fact, the campus and programs give off more of a D3 feel, than D1.

Looks like Maryville has their Guy...
It seems like the position was never officially posted on any job site or on the university employment opportunities. To my understanding, Stark has been out of Coaching for the last three years. He took an assistant ad role at lindenwood.

He was coaching in '19, he only has missed the shortened season last year.

Re: Coach Carousel 2020
weird Stark or administration asked Burke to stay on. I know he was kindly asked to find another job at the end of last season so he didn't have to be fired. Stark will be a great hire though.
