Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
Michigan is on five times. Please explain, if anyone has a reason.
Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
I think a lot of it has to do with their opponents: Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins, Maryland, Penn State, and Rutgers.
It is curious. It's almost looks like BTN isn't covering MIchigan.

Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
Going to be a little embarrassing when they don’t feature the eventual NCAA champion, Penn, until the Ivy Playoffs.
Well, it’s ESPN and they are circling the bowl...

Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
ESPNU games:
5 - Michigan
4 - Notre Dame, Johns Hopkins
3 - Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse
2 - Maryland, Virginia, Cornell, Penn State, Rutgers
1 - High Point, Ohio State, Jacksonville, Utah, Detroit, Monmouth, Princeton
Obviously a lot more games on ACCN/ESPN3/ESPN+ but these are the ones airing live on actual television.
No Yale or Penn is indeed pretty strange. Penn @ Duke on 2/22 isn't even on ACCN.

Just waiting for the money loser that is ESPN to drop this and the schools to go with live feeds hosted by students of the information director of the host athletic department. It would be an improvement. More accessibility, less Carc.

Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
I wonder if ESPN's decision not to air Ivy games is linked to its contract with the Ivy League - pay your $4.99/mo for Ivy access through ESPN+ and you can watch on line. Hmmm?
Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
You are correct. The Ivy schools don't need the $5 per game and should join the mainstream lax viewing options. Honestly, people hate shelling out $$ for an individual game. Pain in the neck.
For someone above- The ACC Network is a regular cable channel just like the SEC and B1G networks. Many cable companies have added it.

Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
For those interested, ESPNU seems to be showing reruns of NCAA Lacrosse Championship games all day today, Tuesday, July 14.
Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
They're also carrying some MLL games, and the PLL will be on soon on NBC Sports.
Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
ESPN3 broadcasting three Naptown challenge games (rising sophs, jrs and srs) from Annapolis. Misspelled both Quint’s and Carc’s last names. At least they’re consistent.

Someone else is producing those games, ESPN is just providing the talent and the platform for the games to be streamed on FYI

The PLL announcing team from NBC is really showing how bad the ESPN lax bro’s are, such a pleasure listening to them.

Agreed. It’s a showing of Pro’s vs. Joe’s.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

We can do better. I really like Cottle as an announcer, BTW. I like Boyle also.

I think the NBC and B10 Network folks put ESPN to shame. I think Boyle and Dixon are IMO the best color commentators around for lacrosse.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 10:56 pmWe can do better. I really like Cottle as an announcer, BTW. I like Boyle also.

Yes on Mark Dixon. Love listening to him. Those B10 games are great televisionviper wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:54 amI think the NBC and B10 Network folks put ESPN to shame. Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
The NBC crew is really good. They were able to spark my interest in the PLL, no small challenge.
...although the dearth of other lax may be a factor.
Their explanations of the roster makeup helped distinguish team identities, which the PLL & MLL lack.

Re: ESPN 2020 Schedule
The NBC crew puts ESPN to shame as far as enjoying a lacrosse game is concerned. ESPN has turned to garbage in general, their golf coverage of the PGA is almost impossible to listen to as well
