I know there is not going to be a NY State championship tournament. Will there be Section III championships this year. Pretty sure Long Island is holding them. Thanks.

June 19th at East Islip HS, Class A/B/C/D Championships. Manhasset fell to Class C by ONE student and will likely take on Mt Sinai/SWR. Can't Wait!!

One used to get a good read of Sect III lacrosse via Syracuse.com website. Still possible but most of the info is for paid subscribers. That's not me.

Found this though if one wants to check out the latest standings,
https://highschoolsports.syracuse.com/b ... rence=SCAC

Shocking to see West Genny at 5-10. Must be why all the old WG posters have disappeared.

Section 3 Finals trow

Here are matchups for A/B/C/D

Sat, Jun 12, 2021, 12:30pm @ Baldwinsville
1 Baldwinsville
2 West Genesee

Sat, Jun 12, 2021, 11:00am @ Fayetteville-Manlius
1 Fayetteville-Manlius
2 East Syracuse Minoa

Sat, Jun 12, 2021, 5:00pm @ Jamesville-DeWitt
1 Jamesville-DeWitt
2 Christian Brothers Academy

Sat, Jun 12, 2021, 4:00pm @ Westhill
1 Westhill
3 LaFayette

A & B should be Bville and FM easily. JD a slight favorite in C. D is a toss up.

Finals

Baldwinsville @ West Genesee 14-7

Fayetteville-Manlius @ East Syracuse Minoa 21-6

Jamesville-DeWitt @ Christian Brothers Academy 15-8

Westhill @ LaFayette 20-13

IMHO Bville probably would've run thru A in Upstate bracket. Same for JD in C . FM vs Sect 5 rep (tbd) would be a great B game, same for WH and Penn Yan in D.

Wondered as I thought I’d hear a little bit about Alex Rosa but their season explains it to some degree. Looks like he didn’t do as well as 2019 as a Soph.

HOF Coach Mike Messere weighs in on West Genesee lacrosse since his contentious departure three years ago - His successor resigned last week after an unaccustomed losing season.

It kind of blows my mind that his team made it to the state final at the end of the season in which Messere resigned. He said the team quit and they still made it that far.

We had a FR at Hobart who played really well in 21 named Anthony Dattellas. Didn’t know what to expect from him but he was excellent when we needed him this past season.

Happened a month+ ago. Rumor is WG wants him. Hope so. He is a great fundamental coach which is what WG has been known for. He's not Meserre (sp?)
He knows his sh!t and would be a great addition to the WG legacy.

I saw he stepped down.
Why? Any news since then?
Just seems really weird doing it midseason.

Same reasons other HS coaches have left.
