Very sad news. A gentleman indeed who will be missed by many of us. Good guy, considered him a pretty close LP friend, just a bummer.

You forgot One L Hilary, OCanada....she communicated with you quite regularly. ;)

RIP, Mr. Fidelis.

Very sad news and a little unexpected about Bob. I last heard from him at Thanksgiving with a seemingly positive email update on himself and Hilary. I started to be concerned when I didn’t hear back to my response. I’ve been sharing emails over soccer events and other goings on for the last four years. He would even send me clippings from his WSJ on soccer stories.

Cheers to LaxFi.

I think Bob must have exchanged emails and PMs with everyone at Laxpower. A rare breed with a big heart who enjoyed all of his many unique friendships here.

A true friend to us all. Cheers to LaxFi! You will be missed by many.

Meeeeeeeen Geeeeeeee!

A native of South Dakota, he got his big break in the world of entertainment in Minneapolis working for Wally Karbo & Marty O'Neill. He was a notorious imbiber which is what led to a couple of bloopers while live on TV and he helped introduce the nWo at its creation:

ALS is such a horrible disease. I have a good friend from high school who is going to die from ALS. I saw her in April of last year and she had not been diagnosed. She looked and felt great but was complaining about some foot pain. By July she had more weakness in both legs. By September they diagnosed ALS. Today she is confined to a wheelchair with less mobility and worsening symptoms by the day. Such a healthy person just a short time ago. Terrible terrible disease.

RIP and bottoms up at the Krusty Krab!
ALS sure sucks. My friend lost her battle Sunday night.

The Summer Day

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

I don't want to be too early writing his obit but one of my favorite singers of my youth has terminal colon cancer. Bat Magrath was a legend to me in the late 70's I remember burning through my copy of The Blue Eagle in no time flat. Bat played his last concert in Rochester on Saturday night. There were only 700 tickets and they were bought up in no time. Most of you probably are not familiar with Bat... well maybe Dmac but that is because we are both upstate NY kids. For the life of me I can't find the version of this song that Bat and Don recorded together. It sums up my feelings perfectly for the love I felt for Bat. He was such a big influence on me as a teenager...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU62fa9IkQ0 Not https://whttps://www.bing.com/videos/se ... eos/search? Not my favorite version but I have listened to it at least a 1000 times.
I use to be a people person until people ruined that for me.

I remember him well. Bat McGrath & Don Potter were a huge duo to the locals, Rochester's version of Simon & Garfunkel. Tough deal, cancer has touched so many.

Do you upstate music lovers remember Ed and Claudia Wool? Not that they’ve passed. Just that we loved them in New England.
