More opening night scores:

Marshall 14 - McLean (H) 13 in OT. Marshall won the draw and scored 15 seconds in for the sudden victory.
Justice 20 - Annandale (H) 8
W+L (H) over Edison (by a lot, 16-2 was last report midway through the 2nd I heard)

The Cougars brought some big & physical Seniors to Pat Cunningham & used them to their best advantage to go up 5-2 against the Cavs. The snack bar was the only bright spot for Woodson in the first 20 minutes as the 3 freshmen & other 3 new starters were gripping the sticks pretty, pretty tight! In the last five minutes of the half the Cavs seemed to find some offensive rhythm and knocked in three before the half. The second half was an old school Cougs-Cavs donnybrook with lots of bodies on the turf. The Cavs got out in front, Cougs brought it even. Both goalies did well but seemed bothered in the first half Gross for the Cavs as she missed the first two shots playing like she still had her Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man pads from field hockey which she did just 6 days earlier losing to Madison like everyone else did & Callista seemed to not love the Woodson goal complaining about its position in the circle throwing her game off in the last five minutes thankfully for the Cavs. Both played much better in the 2nd half as the shooters on both squads found the range. Cavs went up 10-7 & it looked like it was over but Coach Oliver called a timeout & got the Cougs back in it & they fought back to 9-10. Then Coach Lewis took a TO & settled the troops & the Seniors did the ball handling to run the clock out. Good night under the big moon as the game was as exciting as the classic early 2000’s games. Both teams will improve as Coach O has 10 Sophs & a frosh while Coach L has 8 Sophs & the 3 frosh.

Dr. T, That sounds like a plan. Do you think 9 May is too early for a Top 10. So it would be submission on Sunday May 9, 16, 23, 30 & 6 Jun with Monday Polls. That would give us 5 Polls before Districts or we could do 9, 23 & 6 for 3 polls & then weekly after that?
