Towson women’s team has announced their schedule. Would think that men’s team will be playing

Tigers dot com —————>
Practice formally opened with an 11 a.m. team
meeting on the new lower practice fields, followed
by dynamic warmups with Aaron Droege, head strength and conditioning coach at Towson, followed by stick
work drills. The day finished with a weight room session
in the Towson Center for the offensive players.

The reigning Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champions will continue practice through the
week between the lower practice fields and
Johnny Unitas Stadium.

The 2021 schedule is currently being finalized
and will be released on TowsonTigers.com when
all contracts have been signed.

It would make sense, getting an early game out of
the way in Feb. against UVA, say, chance of slightly
warmer weather.
The CAA is going to get their schedule out, likely
within days, so I don’t know how useful it is to
speculate.

Isn't that more likely to be a scrimmage? Towson and UVA scrimmaged last year on Feb. 1.

16 games? That's more than they had scheduled last year. Seems bizarre given that all of the reporting done by IL and others is that teams will schedule fewer games than normal. Either that reporting was wrong, or Bellarmine missed the memo. Perhaps they're expecting some of these games to get canceled.

Looks more like UNC and ND need to schedule some weak OOC games in order to be eligible for the tournament. :D

I wouldn't say that reporting was outright wrong. There will be some teams will lesser games, but not all. I think we will see more home-home situations, I know Big East is already doing that, and non-con games against conference opponents, like Bellarmine gonna do.

Maybe this is me overthinking it but after checking out the schedule, there are so many midweek games that are sandwiched between weekend contests that this team will possibly be exhausted from not only traveling but playing in such short rest periods.

16 games is a lot but hey this schedule could be the first domino to fall and maybe other teams will release their schedules too

North Carolina 19 Colgate 6
Mercer 18 Florida Tech 6
Jacksonville 14 Detroit Mercy 15
Penn State 16 Lafayette 9

Boston University 5 Providence 12
Rutgers 20 Quinnipiac 9
Merrimack 12 Holy Cross 13
Duke 13 Air Force 14
Utah 16 Bellarmine 10

Hopefully, practice starts this week for many of the teams. BTW - It makes me sad when I see Furman on this list.

I would assume some of these teams will be the first to play this year too.

Any early insights, comments, or schedule rumours?
I think 15-16 game schedules will be the norm this year. As double conf games will fill the schedule for many. Plus, there is a good chance that 1-2 games will probably get cancelled due to COVID issues, and there is no real opportunity to make them up based on the complexity of travel, fields, other team schedules, etc.

Adding 2021 schedule links for teams that are probably playing the first week so it easier to check on status.

Thank you for this. I expect that by the end of the week, we'll have a much clearer picture of who is doing what.

I know College Crosse did this for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed it as a LaxPower-like grid of sorts. That Chris Jast guy on Twitter is keeping up with it for men's and women's D1, rosters and schedules. https://www.relaxlacrosseblog.com/post/ ... ters-games

Teams may be scheduling more games with the assumption that some will be cancelled.
