That game should not have been played. Hard to even call it a lacrosse game in those conditions. That forecast was known for several days. Should have called an audible and moved to Sunday. Or what they really should have done was pay off that cranky lady a few years ago who prevented Dartmouth from building a full 120 yard indoor facility.

THIS. (It was the Town of Hanover but THIS.)
[/quote]

You are right that the lawsuit involved the College v. the Town, but it was really the abutters who drove the opposition. One woman in particular, a member of the Town Planning Board, fought this tooth and nail. Although she recused herself from the final Planning Board vote, she remained very vocal throughout the process and filed a brief in the NH Supreme Court case. Ironically, she moved out of the neighborhood after the case. And to add even more irony, the value of her home has increased from $836,700 immediately prior to the controversy to $1,651,500 according to Zillow. Apparently the neighborhood doesn’t mind living next to a beautiful athletic complex.

I know an alum who’s got some land he was willing to pledge as collateral for a loan a year or so ago. Decent lot. Might’ve talked to MDLax about the location previously. But it’s likely available..

Ivy Offensive Player of the Week: CJ Kirst (4,4)
8 points vs. Yale.

Ivy Defensive Player of the Week: Peter Blake, Penn. A total of 7 CTOs and 12 GBs versus St Joe's and Dartmouth.

Massey ratings Ivy predictions for this week:
  • Cornell on the road over Penn, with a 54% win probability and score prediction by 1;
  • Princeton at home over Dartmouth, with a 98% win probability and score prediction by 10;
  • Virginia on the road over Harvard, with a 78% win probability and score prediction by 5;
  • Yale on the road over Brown, with a 76% win probability and score prediction by 4.
The result predictions look pretty reasonable. Penn-Cornell is seen as the closest to a tossup but if Brown can tap into the energy they had vs. Maryland and have a great day from the People's Goalie, they could give Yale trouble. On paper, neither Yale nor Brown has been great on scoring defense (Yale at #60, Brown at #50) but obviously Yale's offense has functioned much better (#2 in scoring offense vs. #68 for Brown), so on the numbers Yale should prevail but Bruno has a lot of bite in 'em and is playing at home.

The Cornell at Penn game seems like it will go a long way toward deciding who gets to host the ILT. If there's an Ivy defense capable of containing the Cornell attack, Penn might just have it. Plus, Penn's at home. Cornell with a 54% probability, not far at all from 50/50. Clearly the in-conference game of the weekend.

UVa with a 78% win probability? Hmmm, okay, Harvard has lost its last two games, but also beat Michigan in Ann Arbor. And Harvard is at home. I can understand Lars' young men being favored to win, and the Crimson needs to avoid falling way behind like it did against Bucknell and Yale, but I'd like to think that Harvard at home has a decent shot at an upset. Maybe that's wishful thinking? The ACC is good, Virginia under Tiffany has become a perrenial threat to win it all, but so far this year the ACC doesn't look light years ahead of the Ivy, so let's just see how this one goes.

I think Dartmouth has a decent shot at an Ivy win again this year, but not this weekend at Princeton. Rome wasn't built in a day, or a year, and I think that Kirwan will get the time he needs.

Computer saying Harvard has 22% for W seems about right. Not a 50/50 game and not hopeless.

I think 22% is high. I would be at more like 10%.

Nice looking crowd for the Harvard game today. They drew a great crowd for the Yale game, too, despite a heavy rain.

Please stop, you will be nice and warm in your cozy little man-cave, probably sipping on your favorite local IPA, while some of us will be soaked to our britches, trying to decide to stay out there, or head underneath to the refreshment stand in hopes that the hot dogs are still warm, and that they didn't run out of coffee.

I'll give you a line I've used a few times (a few too many times🥶) since IvyLeagueTV was a thing, at lacrosse games, 'round 'bout the time you lose feeling in your feet (speak loudly, and to no one in particular): "Whadda ya mean it's on TV!?!?!"

Small nitpick but I’d also add fogo points when applicable. McMeekin scored for the fourth straight game which shows some of the extra value to his performances. Good stuff every week though, thanks!
