2017 the offense got hot @ the right time. It would have been fun to play Md for the title. Anyway, IMO this is an effort game. Both teams have advantages. Weather is coming early, hopefully it is just cloudy @ 2:30. 9 hours of lacrosse both days. The best this sport has to offer as far as competition. USA beating England 32-7 doesn’t do much for me. The indoor game is another ball of wax. Enjoy!

Great effort :!:
Tigers had their shot to win it.
Obviously, I didn’t much care for that final regular time possession.
Your not going to beat the Terps playing it safe.

But, very good season for Tigers.

Just one too many turnovers for Towson. :|

Congrats to Towson on a fine season. Congrats to MD on moving on.

Wow ! What a game !
I really wanted Towson to win but just a little short.

I'm not in favor of dumping the ball in the corner to run the possession out without taking a shot on goal. Maybe someone can help me understand why that's a good tactic ?

two things I did not like about the Bernhart tieing score. The pole playing the man with ball was at least 5 yds off him. Should have at least been poking at his hands and 2 - do not let Bernhart catch the ball. When he started cutting over the middle he should have been stopped any way possible. Take the penealty. there would have been 3 seconds left in the game.

The Cornell defense man did that last year against Syracuse.
And that was it, game over.

Its just not a natural thing for most defensive players to do.

I think Old Sports Fan above pretty much explains it,
explains what you need to do in that situation,
take the penalty, sit on the man if you have to.

That and don't be afraid to try and win the game rather than trying to hang on.

Not a good decision if you want to win. Should have gone for a decent shot at goal and maybe get the insurance goal rather than turn it over with 0:13 left. Didn’t understand that at all.

Towson post-game press conference:

Sorry if the sound isn't too good. Coach Nadelen and the players were, understandably, pretty gutted after the game.

Stone and Sativa ....can't get Stoned without Sativa. ;)

Hah.
No you can not.

Tyler Canto, he’s played well this season.
But ... he got lit up in this game, the 2nd half really.

Goodrich, a great four year run, one of the top defensive middies to play this game, game after game, Goodrich always got the difficult assignment. Haus, Jack Adams & Goodrich are three of my favorites.

How do you not call a timeout at the end of the game to review all your potential situations? Towson finished regulation with a timeout on the board.

Still in shock about four hours later but this team has not managed fourth quarter leads all year long, whether it's been turnovers, not taking a timeout when needed (today), not going for the jugular, etc. But with all that being said, if Canto had his "B" game, they win by a couple of goals. He was thoroughly outplayed and while the last goal wasn't his fault, he has to save a couple of those long shots. He seems to make the close, acrobatic save but at times, guesses wrong on the long ones.

A lot of things didn’t go right, especially at the end.
I’d have liked to see a time out with about 30 left on the shot clock, set up a play, set up defense, situations, etc.

I expect Nadelen wanted to hold onto his last TO in the event of a quick restart off a turnover like an over and back. I can't fault him for that, but I get the second guessing on the strategy to not aggressively attack the cage for an insurance goal.

That can cut both ways....kinda like when your man down is able to break up an emo - doubling the ball often turns in to a jail break goal. Had the Tigers gone to the goal, it could have easily turned in to a fast break going the other way...

Towson played one of their most complete games all season...owned every category except for saves and the one that mattered at the end, total goals.

The captains deserved all the credit in the world - after enjoying a FF ride as sophomores and suffering a huge setback season as juniors, they came back to campus in the fall with one goal leave on a high note. Mission Accomplished!

Special recognition to Woodall and Sunday - making the most of the what they have, when it mattered the most. Zee was a pleasure to watch from day one.

Brendan Sunday presumably has another year of eligibility after missing his sophomore year with an injury. Will he return to Towson? Will he graduate and go to grad school for business somewhere else? I haven’t heard a thing.
