It's a key game for both programs if they hope to make it into top four for post-season. Need to win this one, take care of business vs Monmouth + Hampton, plus beat at least one of Delaware, Towson, Stony Brook, and Drexel to get to the fourth spot (and hope for no odd tie breakers like 2022).

Hens, keeping it close, keeping it in range so far.

Monmouth gives Villanova a scare and Stony Brook plays a competitive game vs UNC. Would be nice to see Delaware get the actual victory.

Massey has it as +3 for Syracuse,

however, they have the Hens rated #23 and Syracuse at #11, so ...

Hens roll out Hill Academy Nate Bolger - he was good last year when I saw him, though could get psyched out by the very top face off men, like the dude that landed at Notre Dame.

But, he beats Kohn.

A lot of saves for the Hens,

but more from Mark, Mark's best game this season ?

Towson looks to be in the same category as Delaware this year. They gutted one out today. Drexel gave Towson all it could handle, the score is deceptive. Drexel led for most of the game but Towson showed some qualities finishing out tight games.

Nick Demaio with 15 assists the past 3 games.

DeMaio now with 136 career points,
that puts DeMaio at #5 in all-time California prep player
Division I scoring - DeMaio is one of the best players to come out of the California prep system.

Again,

just to repeat,
Seth Tierney called a time out just as his defenseman was putting a shot past the goalie to tie the score,

the hard-luck Dutch.

As a Stags family, that was, um, fortuitous.

Things that are true:

It is time for Hofstra to move on from Tierney and go young
Tierney is an all time great coach and did a great job at Hofstra. Sometimes it is just time for a program to move on.

Best choices for Hofstra:

Any LI native in D1 coaching that can convince players to stay home and play. A lot of Hofstra alumni are in coaching too, which could be a route.

Best young choice: John Crawley - Hopkins O-coordinator, LI guy

Alums and local guys for HC is vastly overrated and limiting. If you like D I’m on the Jeremey Hirsch train personally. Don’t think it would be enough of an upgrade for him but Pat Myers is interesting too.

True, the league is unpredictable. But, Hofstra is staring at an 0-2 start in the conference. @Delaware Saturday

Let me know when the Dutch (or any CAA team, for that matter) get another Josh Byrne - today one of the world's best lacrosse players.

Hofstra got lucky, Byrne was right at their doorstep at Nassau Community College, before transferring in.
