You need a martini after these weekends. This poll work isn’t easy, other than Army.

Not gonna lie, I’d be really happy if Army found the Natty at the end of the season. I can’t imagine them losing until the tournament; I don’t see anyone they won’t certainly be favored over. The only return to some semblance of polling predictability is if they lose to Loyola or one of the other PL teams.

Great job yet again, JoeWillie!!
Thanks, actually. I'm a Gin and Tonic guy. In fact, I'm having one right now. When Cornell wins, I use Tangueray, when they lose, like yesterday, I drink Gordons.

Good poll, but I bet the media gives Notre Dame the top spot over Army.

Good choice on winning/losing drinks. As for the poll:

It's a mess. There's just no right answer. Army is a cool story and an excellent team, but if they remain undefeated and #1, their schedule will be laughed at in comparison to the ACC and B1G gauntlets. By that I mean if a name program like Duke, ND, MD, UVA, JHU ended up the season undefeated and their only top 20 games were Cuse and Rutgers, they would be ridiculed highly discounted here. Still, it's a great story and if Army won the national championship, that would be one of the best sports stories in this quarter-century.

The truth fairy tapped Denver on the shoulder. I think the home loss to Yale on top of the fluke, one in a million comeback at JHU, should reset them lower than 7, probably just below JHU which dominated them until they didn't.

Penn State and UVA should probably be ahead of 3-time OT winner Maryland. Duke should probably be behind each of those teams considering they got dominated at home by Penn.

ND is probably the true #1 but it doesn't matter right now. Fun stuff.

I think his wording was off. Big teams have scheduled much tougher than Army and that gap is only going to get wider. You can say the same for the ACC

One way to cut the bitterness of that tonic water. A lot of malaria in NY? :)

I don't have a problem with your poll, even though I don't believe Army will be there at the end with their schedule and should they lose to UNC(very possible or anyone else(all lower ranked), they will likely drop from top 5. and thank you for ranking the Terps ahead of Virginia. All the pressure is on them next week!

Penn appears to play best in torrential rain, aka car wash. Okay, it wasn't funny, but I try.

I love the spirit!

Looking at Army’s schedule, I see them possibly throwing you a curve ball on April 26 with their last game of the season: they play at Loyola. If (and it’s a big if, obviously) they go undefeated til then, I wonder if they might rest starters, allowing Loyola to surprise and win a meaningless game? That would toss the polls into another heated debate.

Anyway, continue with this great work!

Anyway, continue with this great work!
I don't think they would do that as I'm sure they would like to lock up the #1 seed in the tournament overall, which usually gives you a game against the winner of the "play in" game by the lowest seed.

Securing an undefeated season and a #1 ranking almost assures them of being the #1 seed overall.

I dont think they have that luxury. This is a pretty bad schedule. Lot of lax left, but I dont think the RPI is going to look favorably on Army as the year progresses. This is the type of schedule that 2-3 losses could have you on the outside looking in.
