I really think we need to do something to make defenders more important. If we only count Goals and Assists, defenders will get zero almost every week. And who you pick is not that important.

Matt - What if we counted Caused Turnovers too? The stat is easy to track and would make Defenders much more important.

I would love to see GB's too because it is the most important hustle and game changer stats, but I recognize that is a lot of work.

Defense does count and can cost you points or gain you points. Goals are goals and assists are assists. It is consistent.

We really can’t change course at this point of the draft.

If GBs were counted then Lerlan would be invaluable and we would be enhancing the value of the FOGO. I love them but .... I think what you are suggesting would require a draft of individual defensemen. Record keeping is a PIA already best I can tell

OCanada - I actually thought we had to draft individual defenders and start 3 per week too. But, I re-read the rules and stand corrected.

A starting line-up (which is the only players each week that count towards your weekly points) consists of 3 attackmen, 3 middies, and 1 Team Defense

Maybe next year we could consider adding something like GB's or CT's.
