Ty Xanders' tweet mentioned that Bell is a VA native. https://twitter.com/tyxanders/status/16 ... 4098971696
Well....I'm indignant! Nic Bell has been the best thing to happen to Taft Lacrosse in the past 45 years, and a lot of good things are up for consideration.

How can he just LEAVE because he and his wife would rather be at St Anne's Belfield just because it's in Virginia. The most important variable in all of this -- which he seems to be neglecting -- is that I am having a ball reminding Be Worthy that Taft beat Deerfield and those insufferable 'wick parents that same thing. My life will change a little for the worse if Mr. Bell leaves the Rhinos. This should be the primary consideration, ya know!

My recently-departed but dearly-beloved cousin lived in Charlottesville and took me by STAB's campus a few years back and she was proud of the place. It's a community asset. I am sure that Mr. and Mrs. Bell will land happily on their feet. They seem like that sort of people.

Jon Posner has only one step up the ladder.....I am sure that Andy Dunn and Willie Mac (my classmate!) will make good choices to keep Taft on the top shelf Lacrosse-wise.

Wait, what? How did I get dragged into this? I’ve been a perfect gentleman in not bringing up DA’s record vs. Taft these past few decades! 😉

Now not sure of my rankings D1-2-3

D1: Choate with a huge win. Now there is a top 4 but Choate and Wick dont play each other to battle it out. No Kent Salisbury score but unlikely to move the rankings

D2-West: Wilby seems to have a solid hold. Cant move Wick B up because of their weak schedule

D2-FAA: GFA with a non conference loss to Austin Prep. RCDS has some injuries that may prevent them from advancing any further. Top 4 teams are likely destined for the FAA playoffs

D3: South Kent showing some moxie and moving up. But Harvey is the class of the division

It's weird that Salisbury and Kent are hiding their score. Salisbury beat them, they announced that on twitter, but I guess only the people that were there know by how much. Don't see Salisbury beating Taft though. Choate, Brunswick and Deerfield should all win. I'd be surprised to see any upsets in their games.

LaxNumbers posted it this afternoon. 19-4. Salisbury beat Taft this afternoon by 6 or 7. Good win. Wambach was the main difference in this game. Looks like Wick, Choate and Deerfield all won fairly comfortably as well.

Holy cow. I know Lawrenceville is excellent this year (and likely will be going forward with that coach) and I would probably rank them #1 in the country frankly but 21-4 over TP??? I can’t remember a West-1 team, outside of the bottom dwellers, ever getting filleted like that.

I don't know who the other 2 schools are that are in the Preps National with them and Wick, but I have a feeling there are more ugly spankings still to come.

Now Im all mixed up rankings D1-2-3

D1: Salisbury beats Taft. Wick beat Salisbury. So many teams have beaten each other and I cant make heads or tails as they could all make an argument for the top spot. Too bad Wick and Choate dont play. By margin of victory and by margin of loss to Lville (9-10), I have to put Wick 1st again but any of them could be #1. CHoate could make a case. But I am going to use laxnumbers rankings for some help.

Same issue in the next Tier with all the teams beating each other. Poor Deerfield with a loss against AOF. A win wouldnt have moved them up but would have made a case for the top spot of the next Tier. I could put AOF above Loomis because of their (9-15) loss to Deerfield and I am not sure they would beat AOF again now that AOF FOGO is playing again. Kent basically not posting updated scores at this point. Lax numbers has it (Dfield, Loom, AOF)

D2-West: Not much movement. Millbrook avenges a close 1 goal loss to Gunnery by trouncing them (18-9). Brunswick B falls because of their weak schedule and losses. Not sure they should be in this Division but I dont know where else to put them

D2-FAA: big win by GFA over GCDS and King to retake the top spot. RCDS should be third but they are dealing with injuries. Playoffs this week

D3: Incorrect Wooster-Forman score earlier in the year has changed the rankings. HVAL playoffs this week

Current Last Week School Record Comments

First of all I want to say thanks for your weekly write ups. I appreciate how thorough they are and it's interesting to see how teams throughout NEW are doing. I'd differ with you on the point above. LC played Taft tight on Sat. trading goals and the lead up until the Pelicans' offense went stone cold in 4Q and they ended up losing 16 - 12. Juxtapose that with Taft's utter dismantling of AOF today by a score of 15 - 5, a game in which the Winged Beavers were never a factor. With this in mind, I'd argue that LC would beat AOF if they played again and AOF had the services of FOGO Hepworth, who was toothless at the dot today. It's worth noting that LC's FOGO Hobot, a Hopkins commit, is outstanding in his own right.
Finish Strong
