Loved that film
Yeah, one of my all-time favorites. I go back and watch it again periodically when I’m in the mood. Funny, my mother tried to get me to watch that movie for years and I just for whatever reason didn’t want to. When I did I was glad she had recommended it. Perfect example that a film can be great without sex and violence.
Searching For Bobby Fischer was good too.

Saw it years ago. Didn’t do anything for me. I found it a little schmaltzy as I recall.

I liked it. A lot of those types of movies followed. Right up to whiplash. I liked it but it was overdone….I am a jazz guy.

I could never quite “hear” it. My Dad was huge into jazz and my daughter loves it. Skipped a generation it seems.

I’ve been listening to a ton of blues and jazz on vinyl lately. What kept of my dads collection and bought a record player recently.

BB King live at cook county jail on a new model record player sounds fantastic on vinyl!
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Record player is a line of demarcation between an audiophile and the masses….its a turntable unless its just a “record player”.

Oh I’m definitely an amateur at most everything though I prefer the term flaneur (which I’ve now had to type 7x because this spellcheck doesn’t believe it’s a word).

Mine is called a wockoder brand. I’m sure it’s nothing dope but it works just fine and I’m glad to have something to play my parents (especially dad’s) old records on.

This was my turntable before I got out of my vinyl set up. Have tons of LPs but wasn’t listening enough to vinyl to justify the amount invested. Will get another table in a few years.

I had a Lyra Helikon cartridge. Sound was just spectacular.
