I feel like I’m here just to share URLs at this point lol
But IL preseason rankings
Seems like Kaplan is the only one comprising/putting together this list :?:
Yes, the IL D3 rankings have been Dan Kaplan's take for some time now. It is not a poll.

Granted he is one individual, but there are a number of "misses" IMO. It would have been a little better if he just cut and pasted based on certain results from the tournament last year.

But hey it's just a Pre-season poll right?
First of all, ya better check your tone. I dont think you know who you're talking to. I'm Leonard Washington...I don't get butt naked for nobody!!

True. It’s just one guys opinion. I think we all would have ranked it different.

The latest New England Lacrosse Journal podcast is a great listen. CNU’s Coach Thompson talks coaching, roster size, grad years, CLC, and facing Salisbury. Seek it out if you haven’t already, very insightful on the above topics.

A great listen. Interviewing both Coach Childs of York and Coach Dalgliesh of RPI before their head to head on Saturday was a fantastic touch.

They also plugged that tomorrow IL will drop the DIII top 21-30 teams, and gave a glimpse, indicating that Stevenson, Muhlenberg and Roanoke are included on that list.

Latest “The Crease Dive” podcast has Matt Nestler interview Coach DeLuca (Cabrini).

Some good off-the-cuff conversation. Hearing Dickinson and Colorado College pulling out of their previously scheduled 2024 Cabrini games was interesting. Colorado I understand more, with flights and hotels etc, not knowing if there would even be a Cabrini team to field. But Dickinson? Wow.

Just watched it. Thank you for posting! Deluca was just the perfect man for this job.

The police escort to the NC game he described. Dude, around 2-3k Cabrini fans/family/alumni/former players set up our tailgates strategically by the bus route. We get the word the bus was 5 minutes away. We jam up against the fence line, 20+ deep. Guttural screaming ensued. It was absolutely incredible. Just a primal experience for us, and you could feel the energy transfer.

Lost respect for Dickinson. What a shame. The way Nestler describes Stevenson. That's how we felt about them since the VJC days.

27 heads on the roster. Mid season you gotta expect injuries at least 5-6. Thats a small pool and really not worth it. Dickinson will slaughter Cabrini as is. They also play in an extremely easy conference and I would expect them to even lose some in conf. games no doubt

27 is more than enough for a roster.
4 attack
5 long pole
8 mid
4 d mid

As mentioned I feel like you have to expect injury to occur so I’d knock it down to 22. You’d be stretched pretty thin especially when it comes to two games a week

You're missing the point. This is a small community. In contrast to the wonderful coaches that honored their commitments, some with NC wins and appearances, a school without that gravitas decided to "back out."

Cabrini has literally never lost a conference game. Why would they start losing now? Why do you think so many of their top players came back for this year?

We lost to Wesley College, in the spring of 2000, PAC regular season and 'ship. Colf took over the program when Scarpello left for FDU that summer. His recruiting classes (I was part of the first one) mostly trended up (in class size and talent) during his 23 years as a HC. No one that stayed put in our conferences (PAC, CSAC, AEC) found a coach to bite in and do the same for many reasons. The cupboard is not bare. I don't know if we'll lose a conference game this year, but after taking in the Haverford game, I don't think it's likely.

Back on topic, D3 media coverage, I think the ECD piece was fine. Greg didn't commit to making it long form. Said "they'll try to catch another regular season game." Which is cool. We're not in their backyard. Cabrini had a few talented videographers on the 2019 team. They seem to be involved. I look forward to anything they put out.

They have been ranked mainly due to their nc win in 2019 but quite frankly they dropped off after losing to ic in 2020. Getting clapped by Lynchburg too is not good looks.

Jumbo, I'm 24 years deep, our program has only been around for 30 years. And I think there is a lot more substance they could have tapped into. It's the last march of the Ents. Our program is (was?) more than one game in 2019. Our arc is a classic one. We are flawed beyond measure. There was so much more to us, and that place. We are less and more. I loved the investment of time by Greg. I'm not ungrateful.
